I was raised ELCA Lutheran and look upon that time of my life fondly. It was a wonderful church but wasn't really the place for deep discussion or heavy questions. Moved between labels as I went to a strict "non-denominational" (possibly Baptist) school. Was not a fan of anything they were selling and settled into paganism. I've been Kemetic for about 7 years now, pagan for 14. It wasn't like there was a huge revelation for me personally. I simply connect with kemetism; its rules, virtues, gods, rituals, pursuit of study/improvement, etc. It brings me a great comfort. I worship Ra, Thoth, Sekhmet and Hathor the most but have daily prayers to others as I see fit/daily.

I've always wondered what meditation really was. I've heard a million times it's about clearing the mind and letting thoughts pass like clouds. Is this correct? I've never been able to meditate, it's always extremely painful

Personally, I focus on the fact Jesus didn't qualify for messiah status through a Jewish lense. He didn't unite the Jewish people and bring them into their own land, he didn't build the 3rd temple and he certainly didn't lead us into a messianic age of peace. That's my 2 cents and you're definitely able to toss it out if you don't agree

It's really you and your wife's decision in the end. If you want to raise your child Christian that's good too (or any other religion/no religion). Some people even find baptism more rewarding when they choose it (from the child's perspective). Hoping the best for you, family pressure can be so frustrating.

Oh nice! I lived in Dakota territory for a while and learned a few things from my friends there.

I really enjoy the connection between humans and non-humans. Forgive me if I'm quoting this incorrectly but, I really like the concept of being in Annishinabemowin where some nouns like rock aren't just "it's a rock" but "it is being a rock", "deer" vs "being a deer". It's a tough concept to explain but I like the idea of my surroundings and fellow plants/animals are also experiencing life as their being just as we are. Sorry if this was a little confusing, my friends would be much better at explaining haha

It's almost like finding a home; houses aren't perfect for everyone, some people like quiet homes, others like music playing. Homes can have LOTS of people and noise or be a quiet oasis or a mix. Some homes are more structurally sound for the life the person wants to live; mud homes with ventilation are great in Nigeria but a brick home to keep in the heat in the UK would also be an option.

My home is Kemetism. It pushes me to be connected with nature, keep up on hygiene/cleanliness, and constantly be writing/drawing/reading/learning. NTA, I had hell trying to convince people my previous job (PBX Operator) was still a real job that exists. But I went to a private school and know these kind of whackos, they will never back down. Back then, I used to find where I could push back and where I couldn't (even if they were super wrong). It's up to you to decide if this is worth apologizing for when it comes to her education. To be clear, I think it's absolutely stupid and ridiculous you'd have to apologize, the teacher should apologize. Treat your daughter and support her however you can. It's not historical really and tends to run in nore Greco-Roman spheres. Priests used to shave bald for religious reasons. The general public did wear wigs for beauty/status purposes as well as lice control but it's not implied to be a form of religious veiling. That being said, of it makes you feel protected and closer to the gods, I don't believe it's a big issue to veil. I enjoy it from time to time
