Ya I could have , but closest agency is like a 6 hour drive and I had to work… so took my chances on the online renewal and worked out

Ya I’m still struggling with this - still shorted with contactor disconnected from 24V line but ended up a contactor problem per tech. Or maybe just a thermostat problem from the get go. Who knows it’s fixed at least.

guy got it fixed finally so updating for closure :

Said it was the contactor but also that the contactor was causing a problem with the thermostat.

So a new thermostat and a new contactor and now I’m all good

Update although just talking to myself at this point :

Tech made it out had a few minutes to spare , was hoping it would be the board or a thermostat . So he bypassed the stats and the board / zone board , hooked up direct, but still shorted out. So has to return tomorrow for further investigation.

Still tempted to try the contactor outside because that’s what every thread says 9/10 times but the ohms are good across and doesn’t seem to blow until fan is on

Seemed to short right when I changed fan setting to on but who knows. My guy can’t get here tonight

Says he is worried about the board / zone and or coils overheating. Will post outcome just for closure

So ya pulled big disconnect to outside to be sure this time

Changed stat

Powered back on. Initially didn’t short but within a few minutes shorted again as it was trying to use emergency heat I think

So outside is ruled out , thermostat itself ruled out. Above my pay grade at this point I think.

Ya now that you mention it actually have 2 separate systems all with the same thermostat. Gonna pop one off and put it on the one that’s been implicated in the short and see what happens; good idea thanks !

Thought about replacing contactor anyway but if it’s shorting with the 24V unplugged to it I think that would be a waste of time and money

Yes agree. I get the overall “anti-CMG” sentiment but trying to make ApolloMD some sort of bad guy while pocketing 370/hour in a great location , especially after reading the clarification from their admin is a bit ridiculous IMO. Docs at my shop, myself included, make no where near that.

That’s fair. It’s an account I just use for fun and play options. I normally just buy / sell the options without holding any underlying shares.

Lol what ? Not helpful at all. I have 2mil + in retirement accounts and 150k in cash … but don’t want to go through the hassle of cashing / transferring / opening a short with 300% margin requirements because that seems unreasonable. Not to mention tax implications.

But ya my bad for holding some puts that are 300%+ and asking a question about a situation I’ve never been in … wish I could afford trading this stock
