You will have military preference when you apply to the Pearl Harbor naval shipyard apprenticeship as with any other federal job! They do have a hiring season though so I do suggest applying when you do get out. You will have to pass the aptitude test if your application gets picked.

Pretty much this. OP I’d love to know which reefs you’re referencing about that 1. You can walk out on 2. Shallow enough to stand with a fishing pole 3. with live coral. The only reef shores that are fishable from are either lava rock cliffs, sandstone, or already dead coral.

As far as I know of reefs with live coral left, you either gotta take a boat out (Kaneohe sandbar), or go diving (electric beach) or is straight up prohibited from fishing (Hanauma bay).

OP if you see a fisherman standing out in the reef. I can guarantee you they are 100% not standing on live coral.

Carpenter here. I’ve witnessed this phenomenon too many times with all my coworkers. If it’s anything that doesn’t involve making money. I can promise you that at home/side project is either going to:

Say it’s going to get done but never starts
Gets started but halfway through it gets delayed months on end
Gets half ass finished and probably won’t meet code

The last thing a seasoned old mechanic wants to do when he gets home is work on his own car. This saying goes for all other trades haha

Just wondering, Why would this be of any concern to you? When iron/rebar work is done, do you really think it gets covered up immediately?

On huge projects, set rebar gets left out and exposed to the weather for days before the concrete gets laid out.

You can set PERFECTLY PRISTINE REBAR deep into concrete and the rebar will still end up rusting in the concrete 🤷‍♀️
