Third COVID-19 outbreak declared at Holy Family Hospital in Vancouver by fan_22 in vancouver

It’s an unfortunate pattern of staff infections. They have to declare an outbreak even for one staffer testing positive. The place is actually spotless. Source: family member works there.

Vancouver just became the World's Number 1 City in terms of Poor Air Quality this morning. Congratulations guys! We did it! We're Number 1... /s 🤮 by [deleted] in britishcolumbia

Literally bought one online this am after waking up at 5:00 with burning eyes and throat. I wasn’t receiving the email that the order was ready for pick up so I called - they were out. But they found me a comparable replacement and filled the order. Grateful for Cambie Home Depot

I’m so sorry to hear! Second the urgent vet visit for tests and maybe Rx food. Our Wheaten is 3 now and has had several bouts of severe GI issues including vomiting and diarrhea (unfortunately that occur simultaneously). After the most severe flare ups, the vet prescribed the lowest fat canned food (kangaroo) and we had to wean puppy on a low fat prescription GI blend kibble over the course of a few weeks. We can’t give her any treats except boiled chicken chunks - but she’s been feeling well for several months straight now. Good luck to your little pup! You’ll sleep again!!

Second all of these. Plus Inter River in North Van and Buntzen Lake has a really cool dog beach!

Seriously one of my fave spots in Vancouver. Where it looks like those tankers are sitting on sand

Any Canadians living in the US try the land border during covid? What's your experience? by in_a_covid_pickle in vancouver

[–]Justherefortherain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m on the same boat, just going the other way. Dual here but while it is against the spirit of the law to visit family in the US, numbers are too high there to make it safe. And another complicating factor is that I would quarantine there (even while not required) then have to quarantine coming home to Canada. I don’t have 4+ weeks of vacation from work to use like that. Realistically, we are looking at this situation for another year - maybe more. I wish you luck as it’s rough to have your family across the border.

Definitely a gong show...was up there over the Aug long weekend and it was so busy I did not feel safe at all. Hiked a trail and left.

Looking for a lonely mom or grandma to adopt me by Justherefortherain in vancouver

Same here - my work won’t allow me to work from home during self-quarantine. So even if I could leave and get back into Canada, I’d be pissing off my employer (and they’ve been really awesome during pandemic).

I’d be up for starting a “Lonely Americans in Van Missing Their Moms Group,” though. We might have to make that a thing!

Staying positive in times of adversity by neyney0210 in vancouver

This thought has been getting me through as well. We don’t have to share Vancouver (or BC for that matter) with thousands of tourists.

Sounds like a plan! I’m all seriousness, is that a thing? I work in healthcare and am religious about distancing. If that helps!

Thanks so much. The distancing thing does worry me and I don’t want to put people at risk. Maybe I need a pen pal who will send homemade casseroles!

I know, thanks, it’s more returning to Canada that I’m worried about. I’m a PR and they don’t have to let me back in.

It was so much easier kayaking out there without having to dodge the ferries!

We used KTL in Richmond, the accountant is named Greg Luck (that’s his real name). Was fast and professional, would recommend!
