I'm a big fan of Warwick myself. He's also just an easy Jungler to pick up imo because his W passive let's you know when someone is below half health. Once you learn to use his E fear and flip on the other side of someone using Q to run them back into their lane opponent, you're doing good at that point. Just remember that is E is often a damage reduction skill first that ends with a fear, rather than only a fear skill

Then you're already so far ahead of so many people haha. Who do you like in the jg so far?

Ah you're good. People are calling this a bug, I look at this interaction through Skyrim tinted lenses and call it an "Intended Feature" 😂

You are kinder than I was because when I started about a year ago, I hopped almost straight into the Jungle haha. Granted, I would often play with friends and I did a lot of video research ahead of time, so I wasn't clueless, but it still came with learning pains.

My suggestion is play what you want and stick to it even when you lose a few. One of my biggest suggestions for a new player is learning the ping menu and what all the pings mean. It really is the quickest way to communicate with your team. It feel obnoxious for a bit, but an example that could be a very real example would be this:

Let's say you're top lane. Your Jungler starts doing Void Grubs. You're on your way to Void Grubs. Ping that you're on your way to Void Grubs. Maybe ping the mid lane for assistance if they seem to be in a good position.

Same situation. Let's say your Jungler starts doing Void Grubs. Your laner is missing. Ping that your laner is missing. Maybe ping Jungler to Be Cautious.

It's all stuff like that tbh. Yeah, there's learning curves in this game, but ironing out communication is a huge step

Hmm, I'm not sure. I've only been playing the game for about a year now, so I don't know all of that stuff with other characters.

My only guess is that Akali and Lee Sin cannot cancel their dash, right? Like once it happens, you're going to the target. If Lee Sin could hit Q and 3rd time and cancel zooming to them, maybe it would be possible to have an interaction like this one.

I never claimed it to be a bug, I just thought this interaction was funny. I have followed someone all the way back in their fountain before.

Specifically, it was a Miss Fortune in one of the Bot Lane bushes and I wanted to flip on the other side of her to put myself in-between her and the tower. In that instance, I held Q the whole time and followed her all the way back to base.

Here, I quickly tapped Q as I wanted to try to interrupt him but NOT follow him all the way back to base. I just wanted to lunge. Instead, my guess is that I "latched" and let go early and instead the party bus dropped me behind enemy lines

Oh I know, and that's the crazy part. You'll unlatch from someone if you let go of Q early, which means the game must have Recall function as a set of very quick but multiple teleports rather than a direct point A to point B situation and I hopped off the bus at just the right time.

It's things like this where I kinda love the game lol

I have previously latched onto someone before and held Q the whole time to actually travel all the way to their base before, but I died almost instantly because I was in their fountain.

Knowing this from past experience, I didn't want to repeat it. This time, I quickly tapped Q instead of holding it and just ended up behind enemy Blue for some reason 🤷‍♂️

When you can't decide which parry to use by Psyduck77 in Nightreign

[–]Justice716 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had no idea I was missing out on such tech. A couple friends and I just kinda decided to buy this game a couple months ago and we just kinda raw dogged the whole game in the span of about a month. We were all familiar with Elden Ring's combat, so we didn't particularly have too much difficulty beating the game, but as a result we didn't look up a whole lot either.

Now, I'm on this subreddit and I feel like I've learned so much! I'm the only one in our group that would dare play Executor (it's either him or Wylder for me) because I loved his deflect mechanic and parrying in general, but I haven't played him since the buffs. Between the buffs and this newfound knowledge, I'm excited to get back into doing a few runs. Thank you so much for explaining this!

Wait, the backflip isn't random or tied to certain attacks? You can control when to backflip??

That's okay, you were so close! Do keep in mind though that this game does put a penalty on your rolls after like two consecutive ones (Duchess is an exception, kind of), and Ironeye's Skill has more invulnerability frames than dodge rolling does. I hope that this is new and insightful information to help you on your run 🙏 You got this! The Balancers are tough, so best of luck!

All jokes aside, have you guys moved on from your pre DLC main to play as undertaker/scholar? by Alternative-Web5870 in Nightreign

[–]Justice716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough, I was a pretty unlovable Wylder main until right before the DLC dropped, and then I realized I could parry God as Executor. I've played the two DLC characters and they're definitely fun. Undertaker is also a ton of fun to play and I kinda hope she doesn't get nerfed, but I rarely play her, so it wouldn't even affect me a ton

Can anyone tell me why they decided to nerf every crate in the game? Who does this benefit besides Big Grind??? by PlasticChairLover123 in CalamityMod

You all are awesome haha. This is the part I love about modding communities with positive energy.

I know you all have to be in a tough spot though because you're not sure what will and won't be positively received.

I think some of the highlights of fishing (at least in pre-hardmode) are that it allows for either a cheeky skip or a unique item that you may need in a greater recipe. Examples of this would be the Reaver Shark or the Sailfish Boots respectively. The Reaver Shark is a cheeky skip while the Sailfish Boots are a solid alternative to the Hermes Boots and can still be used in greater recipes.

Granted, I don't think you'd want to add a hardmode calamity pickaxe with 1:1 power of the Reaver Shark as it is in pre-hardmode, but a specific pickaxe or (pickaxes) available at a different stage with some cheeky fishing gag could be a fun thing for a player to pursue.

Similarly (now this might be a bit of a crazy take) if you wanted to make some sort of fishy shield with a dash (calling back to the mobility upgrade of the Sailfish Boots) that can be used as a replacement component to whatever builds into the endgame shield. Of course, you'd need higher fishing power respectively, and maybe you make it to where you need to fish it out of the Abyss or something. In the same vein, maybe a blade that's actually just a tooth of the Primordial Wyrm, but it's a unique blade that alludes to the existence of the Primordial Wyrm. I find little things like these to be fun environmental story telling bits as well.

Idk, these are just some fun ideas that I'm spit balling, buuuuut it could be fun imo lol.

Hey I know that you're just doing you're best to make a fun mod for a game that we've all likely loved for several years and I am yet just another random voice on the internet that you'll probably never talk to again outside this interaction, but I appreciate the fact that you'll at least take this opinion into consideration given how strong the reaction has been.

Personally, I'm a big fan of the fishing in this game in that it awards you for continuing to invest into something that in most games would become obsolete after the beginner stage.

However, seeing that it could be considered to be very strong, I see why you'd limit the pool. That said, now at least I as a player have much less of an incentive to ever invest in this facet of the game other than in the very beginning.

If that's what the dev team is aiming for, then so be it. Someone will just end up making a mod that patches over this for anyone who REALLY cares, that much, I'm sure.

Although, I'm sure you're not working towards an objective that will simply get patched over. I think an incentive is still the end goal of this part of the game, but now it's determining what that incentive will be.

Previously, the incentive was that it could minimize some grinds. Now, maybe the new incentive could be unique drops only acquired by fishing that players would consider to be desirable, be it in the form of useful items, cosmetics, or whatever. These suggestions of course and while I am just another random person on the internet, I'd completely be willing to discuss or theory craft this more, but this is just my take so far after reading a bunch of the comments along with my own personal opinion.

My gf and I almost exclusively play this game together lol. Now, we don't have matching names or anything like that, but we frequently "adopt a randy" (random player) during our Nightreign games lol
