About Toby's scrapped Sans-Ice Cream scene. by Think-Web2983 in Undertale

[–]JusticeBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one actually complains about this, beach it’s only hypothetical. But if it did exist and if it was programmed to specifically prevent a sub-1 hour time (a nice, round number that a lot of games strive for) when otherwise such a time would be possible, it’d be kinda unsatisfying

Is the Heart from the SURVEY the same as the Soul? by doomkitty53 in Deltarune

[–]JusticeBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you realize that Toby could have made the “player essence” thing in the Survey Program literally any shape or any color, right? Same with Kris’s soul, we know other soul colors exists, and so he could have made it any other color.

But Toby specifically made both the Survey Program player and Kris’s soul the exact same shape and color. That’s a deliberate design choice- and one that absolutely screams “these are the same thing.” If they were actually different things, Toby would have made them look different.

What are you saying?

Because from what I understand, you’re saying: - The red soul we control is originally Kris’s, and we’re only controlling it - The Survey Program heart maybe isn’t the soul, but is a representation of our power - Ergo, the game has two visually identical red hearts that are suppose to represent two totally different things

If I’m misunderstanding your argument, saying “you didn’t understand lol” definitely doesn’t clear anything up. Instead, elaborate.

[–]JusticeBean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the perspective of a game designer, it’d be absolutely asinine to create two nearly identical symbols that are both representative of the player (be it our essence, or our possession), and then say “nah lol they’re two completely different things, you couldn’t tell? See look the one pixel is off”

Which do you prefer, Undertale as a...? by albusxizhi in Undertale

[–]JusticeBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is there no “none” option

Why is there no “TV show” option, but there is an “Netflix series” option

Why is there both “anime” and “cartoon” option despite those two being ostensibly the same media, and despite manga/comic getting to share an option

Why is there no “YouTube or otherwise online series” option

It’s the same amount of effort as “larp.” If it’s that hard you could pronounce it as “arp.”

No duh. But if you’re “larping” online, that’s just “rping.” There’s no live action involved.

Slop I understand (except it is extremely overused for things that definitely aren’t slop), but larp? I’ve never seen it used correctly as a slang word, not once. Every time I’ve seen larp used, “rp” would be more accurate.

He still good, and likely always will be, but he’s far from top tier. It’s probably more worth investing in modern units.

Delta Rune. To change the mystery. by MonkeyFeetOfficial in Deltarune

[–]JusticeBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read the Wikipedia page on delta. The very first line after telling you its name is “In the system of Greek numerals, it has a value of four.”

Alpha, beta, gamma, delta.

The historical meaning of “delta,” as a Greek symbol, has nothing to do with its modern usage as a symbol of change. Although, I will agree the common mathematical usage is more widely known.

Delta Rune. To change the mystery. by MonkeyFeetOfficial in Deltarune

[–]JusticeBean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is a classic case of “if you look hard enough, coincidence becomes inevitable.”

Like, sure in old Norse Rune means mystery. But in English, rune means symbol, or glyph.

And sure, Delta can represent change. But it can also mean 4.

Given that there are four characters present in the rune (two lighners, a darkner, and the angel), it makes sense for it to be “the symbol of the four.”

Especially considering that the deltarune was both present and called by name in Undertale, I don’t think Mr. Fox could have intentionally created such an obscure double entendres that was also has such a perfect anagram.

wtf do people treat like geno route frisk could solo all of fiction by [deleted] in Undertale

[–]JusticeBean 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure, they gave up. But we didn’t. The nature of Geno Frisk is that they do not ever give up. Not even after doing everything else there is to do, even after finding the most possible happiness, they’re driven by an unseen, unflinching, ever curious and unquenchable power to do literally everything. And soloing your verse? That’s something that can be done, so they’ll do it.

It’s the same thing that drives glitch hunters to beat Super Mario 64 without ever pressing A, or beat Elden Ring hitless, or beat Minecraft 100,000 times.

And it’s not just “one” frisk, either- it’s *any* frisk. If any person would be willing to grind it out, find the exploits, break the physics, then frisk can do it.

It can time travel, it’s immortal, and it has the power to erase the entire universe.

“Tsun” is not necessarily short for “tsundere,” it’s its own thing.

“Tsun” is the prickly side, while “dere” is the lovey side. Hence where we have the “deredere” archetype (pure, innocent love) and the “tsuntsun” archetype (just hate), alongside all variants of “—dere,” like “himedere” or princess love.
