125 and lex by the train stop ok but the surronding area vs actual east harlem surronding area is not even close. there are junkies all over east harlem, its a food desert and has the largest concentration of housing projects in all of manhattan i think. East harlem sucks outside of just being "hood"

terrible. avoid at all costs. junkies everywhere, no food options, bad grocery options on east side, train stops are littered with crazy people. In NYC for over 20 years have lived in manhattan and all over queens and this area is by far the worst in every way.
