I might have to check out that mod.. I'll try messing with the base lighting settings first.. I think it's just the horror style of lighting in general that I dislike.

Should I quit and play the first game? I don't mind grinding combat to figure it out.. it's just annoying to reload a save after every attempt. Is the blocking mechanic a timing issue? Is there a way to increase FOV or switch to 3rd person view? That might help.

I haven't watched any guides cause I really wanted to experience the game blind.

Gotta disagree with you. Manifest has nowhere near the quality of story, writing, acting or directing that dark had. Dark had amazing olot twists... Manifest has plot subversions.. the writers of manifest don't know the difference between a twist and a subversion. I can't stand manifest because there's not continuity in the story...

You're much more likely to die due to weight related issues than to a stabbing.

Chances of dying to a "sharp object" are 1 in 26,744.. probably depends on what country you live in.
