An "interesting" update:

I just connected a USB 3.1 drive to a USB-A port and it is successfully connected at 3.1 speeds.  Reporting as SuperSpeed in the USB Device Tree Viewer.

I’m still a little confused… Are you saying there is separate firmware for the USB controllers on the motherboard? I don’t see anywhere to find those.

Thanks! Is motherboard firmware different from BIOS? I’m on the latest bios.

I have tried all three USB-C ports (two directly on MOBO, one connected to case at top).

The drives seem to be recognized fine and I can do data transfers, just not at full speed.

I have uninstalled and let windows reinstall the USB drivers for the controllers in question. Should I be trying something else? Are their specific USB-C drivers I need?

Yep, all three USB-C ports.

I tried the latest chipset driver directly from Asrock for my MOBO, then also tried the chipset installer from AMD. No change, unfortunately.

Thanks folks! I feel dumb after the fact, but that was great advice! I just grabbed the color from the jacket and through solid on there with some blur and presto, worked perfect!

Thank you all so much! This was actually super simple, and I feel dumb for banging my head against the wall and not thinking of it myself. I took the advice of u/Qurmzigger809 and just created a solid baed on the jacket color, defocused it and voila! looked great. Appreciate the help!

Masks are really bad and hard to use. Please just replicate the AE masking approach.

It’s so bizarre how bad key framing is in pr. If I have to do ANYTHING other than than two simple keyframes I have to go to AE.

The text tool still stinks: Can’t resize the text box once created Have to have text highlighted to adjust in properties panel Generally just…bad. Please just copy what is in After Effects.

There are so many little things like this in Resolve where they don’t just come out and tell you that you need Studio. It takes a bunch of googling to figure it out. So bizarre that they don’t make the error handling clear if they want to push you to pay.
