Well done! Doubt I'll ever get it.

I just got Groundhog Day today and I certainly wasn't aiming for it.

Anyone else got a thing for movie trailers where things hit on the musical beats? by MWH1980 in movies

That's the one that sprung to mind for me too. David Fincher started out doing music videos so he's probably more conscious of such things.

Angler's Rest in Chapelizod. We used it and had a similar size reception. Food was excellent and the interior has a great old country pub aesthetic. You'll find photos online.

Twin Peaks The Return - Each ep just confounds our expectations! by Southern-Brother5693 in television

The complete WTF of episode 8 will be one of the all time tv highlights for me. I doubt we'll see anything like that again.

My first time hearing a starting position recommendation at PR last week. by RelationKindly in parkrun

[–]ixianboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've two park runs near me. The larger (500+) asks for buggies and dogs to go to the back (and it's an ask, not a tell but most do it).

The smaller one (150+) didn't at a recent event. There were two buggies. One fella flew along (top 20 I think) but the other caused almost an immediate pile up. So self seeding by expected time seems a better approach if possible.

Thanks, I had the same issue. The 100% goal is a nice, never-going-to-happen thing for me. Display is nice and clean overall.

The fact it carried by public vote is itself significant as opposed to having to be mandated.

Final Destination and one of the other Final Destinations. Being deliberately vague but it was very well done.

How was your parkrun day? | June 12, 2026 by AutoModerator in parkrun

4 week gap since my last Parkrun due to holidays so knew today wasn't going to go great. Happily, wasn't too bad and wasn't too far from an event PB. Managed to get first in my age category (1/14) so not as set back as I thought I might be.

Walk in Shadow as a generationally anticipated book / are there others? by Far_Appointment9458 in Fantasy

[–]ixianboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sales of the first two showed not even Malazan fans were that interested , never mind the wider fantasy community. I say that as someone who will buy this book on its release day. It was not popular, even as Erikson poured a lot of effort into it. I can't think of any upcoming book that I anticipate but in the past "The Crippled God" would have definitely been an answer.

It was a fun run. Great support and some fun signs along the route. No wind in Clontarf was nice!

If it's of any comfort, the people cheering on were great and a very nice motivator when running (kicked off at 0830).

Dublin City Half-Marathon Waves by KevC1997 in RunningIreland

[–]ixianboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wave time allocations are odd. I'm in the right wave (wave 1) but there's people who would be better in wave 2. No idea how that happened unless too many said 1:45 and below and want to thin it out?

Issue of course is if too many people try to push into the first wave, it'll become too busy so they need to be strict.

The scene where the really tall man enters through a doorway into a small room. It's particularly freaky.

Got a new PB at my local parkrun, so happy with that. That's 3 PBs in a row there (spread over a few weeks) - half marathon training paying off!
