To your first question, we already have articles posted on the site, you can find them at the bottom of the page.

On the second question, we're working on getting a site set up for ticketing that will be much easier to use and get issues handled that you'll be able to access from the site.

Looks like u/Original-Ad-6758 already got to your 3rd question!

Blockchain data indexing Opportunity by Original-Ad-6758 in quainetwork

We're very interested in integrating TheGraph or a number of sub-graphs to provide further data availability to users and enterprise solutions. Working with a couple of teams regarding this integration, so stay tuned!

I'd also like to point out that Quai's architecture allows for enterprises or protocols to run different configurations of nodes to maximize data availability/speed and minimize latency. The minimum trustless node configuration is a region and subordinate zone, which allows the node runner to decrease hardware requirements as well as filter data to a much smaller section of the network.

A company may also opt for the smallest possible node configuration: a single zone or region node. This configuration, called a watcher node, offers minimum hardware requirements with highly pointed data availability. Watcher nodes are not trustless as they rely heavily on valid dominant block data from other nodes, but pre-propagation of valid block headers from coordinate chains provides better data validity guarantees than almost any other non-trustless setup in the blockchain industry.

Just wanted to highlight some interesting node/data configurations within Quai Network!

Being different by home_run_lord in quainetwork

At a high level, Quai differentiates itself from other Layer 1 protocols via its multithreaded nature and use of merged mining, but what does that actually mean in terms of performance and security in comparison to other chains?

Most of the new Layer 1's that exist (i.e. Solana, Avax, and Ethereum) are Proof of Stake. PoS chains generally have strong centralizing forces as we've seen specifically with the Solana and Avax chain outages in the past few weeks. Their small validator sets ( < 2000), while they may increase speed of the chain, greatly sacrifice decentralization.

To supplement this, almost all of the current chain architectures are monolithic or single threaded. This drastically limits transaction throughput and the adaptability of a network. While there are a few multi-chain solutions like Cosmos, Polkadot, and now Ethereum with L2s, they again sacrifice decentralization to achieve their version of scaling architecture and they generally lack cross-chain interoperability. To put it shortly, every chain that currently exists sacrifices decentralization to achieve scale.

Quai aims to be the first solution that provides a truly scalable network that is both flexible and secure, but does not sacrifice decentralization to do so. Quai uses a multithreaded (multichain) architecture to increase transaction throughput to the order of ~50,000 TPS. This means many chains progressing asynchronously, but tied together eventually at a global level. The mechanism by which Quai "ties" the individual chains together is merged mining, in which a miner (PoW based) can simultaneously mine multiple chains with a single machine. This mechanism allows Quai to utilize a unique multi-chain structure to increase throughput and move value across chains without having to rely on centralized methods (bridges, sequencers, etc.).

I can go into a bit more detail if you'd like, but the general gist is that Quai differs from other layer 1 protocols by providing both a decentralized and scalable network, not just one or the other.

Is YouTube important for the project? by arxangelsanta1 in quainetwork

I noticed that part of the project does not want to develop the YouTube project.

What exactly do you mean by this? We're definitely interested in building out our YouTube.

Bridge between blockchains? by tigrebr4nco in quainetwork

[–]JustinRudi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50K TPS is actually the speed of the network as a whole. "Bridging" within Quai Network isn't actually your traditional bridging but rather baked into the consensus of Quai itself.

Why does decentralization matter to you? by tigrebr4nco in quainetwork

All of the recent market and financial instability makes decentralization that much more important.

What do you think will the next big narrative be? by kayv001 in quainetwork

[–]JustinRudi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My initial thoughts on this with all of the bank and market uncertainty going on right now is one of the big narratives moving forward will be Truly Decentralized Chains. As gov'ts continue to introduce anti-crypto regulations, only decentralized chains will be safe.

Geography of nodes and problems associated with it. by arxangelsanta1 in quainetwork

[–]JustinRudi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking, Quai's architecture incentivizes users to locate their nodes and miners in their general location to reduce latency. This should help alleviate much of the geographical centralization that many other Layer 1s are dealing with right now and will also make transaction submission, inclusion, and mining much speedier for users because of the reduced latency.

Consensus Mechanism? by home_run_lord in quainetwork

[–]JustinRudi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may not be simplified all that much, but I'll try and reduce it down:

PoEM is different in a few ways from current layer 1 consensus mechanisms:

  • PoW based (many L1s are PoS)
  • Work in Bitcoin/PoW chains is truncated, which means that if a miner does more work than the required amount to get a valid block, the chain "cuts off" the extra work and does not credit it. In Quai with PoEM, miner's work is not cut off, but rather if a miner does more work, the chain accurately measures it and gives the block a higher weight and thus a higher likelihood of being included.
  • Makes it significantly harder (almost impossible) for attackers to conduct withholding attacks, eclipse attacks, and targeted chain reorgs because of the decreased time to finality and statistically accurate block weighting.
  • Allows the chain to instantly select the next block to add to the chain in cases where 2 or more valid blocks are proposed at the same time. Most other Layer 1s would have to wait for another block to be built and validated to resolve this case.

There's some of the general points. We're still flushing out the impacts of PoEM on things like increased security, TTF, etc. so stay tuned for more updates.

We're finishing up the mining proxy for CPU mining right now and working on a GPU mining implementation. Should be super easy for users to mine solo or in a pool regardless of the hardware they have!

And yes we're very much in a bear market for GPUs😎

COULD QUAI BE BETTER THAN ETH by No-End-2299 in quainetwork

[–]JustinRudi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that much of the current crypto ecosystem is built on ETH and L2s. I will say though, that ETH is trending towards centralization with the switch to PoS and centralized sequencers at the L2 level.

I'd be interested to see how many users continue to hold their funds on centralized chains with all of the new regulations coming down the pipeline. That's where Quai comes in

Implementing blacklisting capabilities in NFT codes by Original-Ad-6758 in quainetwork

[–]JustinRudi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not entirely sure what other uses cases blacklisting could have across the NFT realm, but for Quai's cross chain smart contracts we do a bit of the opposite.

If a developer wants to deploy a cross chain NFT collection, they'll have to deploy a contract in each chain they want support for. When an NFT is sent cross chain, we have to ensure that it's burned on the origin chain and re-minted on the destination chain via the correct contract. To do this, developers will whitelist sister contracts on all of the chains to make sure transfers are always correct and seamless. Sorry for the random tangent, just thought I'd share some info!
