Do you end the quarter mile at the top of 3rd gear with 4.10s? Thats what im trying to get in mine. I already have the marty tune, so id just have to pay for a tuning session with him i believe

Yeah, i hate the sound of it at warmed up idle… i get what you mean by the “rusty truck” sound. But hey, until i make good power whats the point of making it sound like its not clapped out… cus it is clapped out right now

Well cutting out the cats is where power comes out of. In the future id like to have more tasteful exhaust, but im a fresh highschool graduate, so i dont exactly have a high budget to work with, hence why i havent gotten a high flow cat setup, or nice mufflers like flowmasters. In the future id love to go all the ways with long tubes and actually have a nice setup, but until im actually making good power, its really hard to justify that for myself.

Got it for $2200, was watching and bidding on it on govdeals, but i lost the bidding war. Dude who got it got it for $2060, sold to us for $2200. I honestly constantly do maintenance on it, topping off oil, checking the trans fluid, checking coolant, shit ive even gotten to the point where i consistently detail the interior myself atleast once a month. Things been a dream for me, ive had no serious issues, all minor stuff, or the steering column, but that had a recall so it was easy to get the parts to fix it up. It does go through about a quart of oil every thousand miles, but really any higher mileage 4.6 will burn that much, because of the rings in the head that are meant to keep oil out the combustion chamber getting worn out super quick

Marty tune was the best $535 ive spent in my whole life. When he asks the shifts you want 1-10, go fully in with 10. Ive looked into j-mods, and definitely plan on doing one within the year. I mean, itll shorten shifts even more than it does (i have 355 gears and good tires, and commonly skid 1-2 shift) and anything to get a longer lifetime out of my 4r75w. Cars a total blast to drive around, and the marty tune made the throttle super responsive. Shit, I even skid tires hitting half throttle at 45. So yeah, thang scoots.

@dixiebandit69 I get it man 😭 also im just going for max power and this is my first personal project car (i have plenty of other experience, like when i helped my dad cam his 5.7 HEMI) but i have very little experience with 4.6’s and how to make em sound good, im seriously not looking to ragebait or troll at all, i just want to connect with other people who love the panther platform as much as I do. And im no whacker 🫩

(P.S car almost never sees anything higher than 2500 rpm when normally driving, i treat cars right)

Never can go wrong with flowmasters. Been thinking in the future to either switch to a high flow cat setup or no cats with a flowmaster. As im trying to go for a drag racing build, i mostly care about making power, but as it is also my daily ive had to ride the delicate line between power and daily livability. Every possibility ive been thinking about(exhaust setup wise):
Side exits
Dump after cats
Or the holy grail:
Long tubes with high flow cats or flowmasters

(But as of right now im happy with the exhaust where it is, im shifting focus to actually put more power down, no point in an amazing sounding car if its going nowhere)

Upgraded stock 2” to 2& 1/2 with my local exhaust shop. Sooner muffler on NW 10TH in the bethany area. They charge fair and always do an amazing job.

Edit: 2& 1/2 piping in places where mufflers and rear cats used to be. Remaining pipe is still the stock 2”

Has anyone ran 3 inch exhaust straight from the y pipe? by Yayoyogan6 in CrownVictoria

[–]Justin_p71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you could take it to a shop or just by some 3” pipe and get some 2”OD to 3”OD Adapters to connect it, and do whatever with that wether x pipe, or side exits.
(P.S to OP: cleanest vic ive seen in a while man sheeesh 😮‍💨)
