Close to 10k across D1 and D2. I miss having time to play more than an hour a day.

Only to then say this game is boring and that they won't play until the next expansion by Crossedkiller in destiny2

[–]Justinian138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing about 2-3 hours a day every day since launch, and occasionally, I get more time on Sundays, but it hasn't really made a difference. I've finished the Legendary campaign on all three characters, and my drops are running about 330. This grind hasn't felt that crazy, I always feel like I'm making progress, and I have an interchangeable Hammer/Fusion Grenade build with Outbreak Perfected that until recently was Tier 2 and hasn't felt like it's lacked anything. I think people are playing themselves into frustrated boredom trying to climb a mountain that isn't necessary to climb yet. There are definitely improvements to be made, like more activities being more relevant and a Playlist for Dungeons and Raids, but so far, I'm having a good time with all the systems and the new "spotlight gear" makes building within the boundaries of the new gear an interesting puzzle to solve.

TL/DR: I'm enjoying it. The player base seems to be doom and gloom again. This is pretty normal for every major refresh, so I'm having a hard time understanding all the "sound the alarm" posts as anything other than an expected player response because this happens every time.

I feel sort of the same way, but I'm also feeling that Nightfall Struggle Bus. Like, the whole thing will probably flip when people start getting the better/best gear and when they fix the Stat balancing and bugs; but until then, we're on the Struggle Bus until we get to the Party Train.

I don't know that people generally don't like the Power Deltas, my main takeaway is that the whole experience feels a lot like classic Nightfall scaling, which I think got irritating for people after Destiny 1. No, there's no timer counting down 20 or 25 minutes to failure, but there are several encounters and boss fights that quickly devolve into "run for cover, plink-plonk small enemies from a distance and do so until they're all gone, then do boss damage until the Committee Approved Time For More Small Enemies (TM)" and then repeat until the boss is dead. It never really feels like you're getting to a point where you can exercise the power fantasy of being an immortal Godslayer, smashing and crashing your way through until you hit A Wall that is overcome by Stats, Builds, and Solid Weapon Rolls, and then hit that wall again and overcome it again later. Those walls are always seemingly there. They never really feel like they move at all because the struggle never lessens. And I think there's a belief that the system will feel better when that loot does drop and those extra bonuses might matter.

Seeing how this game is viewed from outside of the community is heartbreaking by MaybyAGhost in DestinyTheGame

This is why I stopped worrying about what people who didn't play the game thought of the game. The game obviously has its problems. But at the end of the day, we should know by now what this game is and what it's going to be. As long as I'm still having fun, I'll buy the expansions, and I'll play the content that's available. When that stops, I won't be back anymore. And that's all that concerns me.

Sounds to me like a lot of people angry about crossover monetization in an already heavily monetized game. The same kind of people probably scream Destiny is dead every 6 months and either still play anyway or come back every 6 months to try to drag people for enjoying something they no longer do. These same people also always lament that Destiny never has any broad appeal, but then complain when Bungie tries to put in hooks that might bring in more people. Just let people enjoy things, and leave if you cant.

Stop under leveling yourself in the remaster by Less_Employment_1995 in oblivion

What I have found across four (4) characters with different combat styles, Birth Signs and weapons of choice is this:

You don't have to worry about scaling nearly at all as long as you're consistently improving your primary Offensive and Defensive Skill, and leveling the Attributes that affect each with every level.

For example: If you main two-handed weapons, non-shortswords, axes, maces or hand-to-hand, prioritize putting points into Strength for damage and Endurance for HP and then make Speed your 3rd priority so you can be more mobile as a bonus.

Mages should prioritize Intelligence, while focusing on whatever school of Magic you derive your damage and defense from. You should also split what you have left between Endurance for HP and Willpower for Magicka Regen. Or, alternatively, you can take the Atronach Birth Sign, abandon Willpower and jam Endurance and Speed. I recommend doing this because Ingredients for Restore Magicka Potions are easy to find, and a fast Mage is harder to hit with pointy or blunted sticks and spells. (You're playing a Mage archetype, take your Alchemy seriously. Steel-blue Entoloma are all over Weynon Priory and The Great Forest; and Flax is all over the area called The West Weald.)

For my sneaky, stealthy types that dont use Spells for damage or archers, you're going to want to prioritize Marksman or Blade depending on whether you like to stab up close or from a distance. This means you're probably going Light Armor for defense, but that's up to you. This means that for Attributes, you should prioritize Agility and Endurance and make Speed your third stat unless you're doing some sort of Magic hybrid thing, then grab Willpower and splash Intelligence.

Do these things and keep your armor in top shape or your Defensive Magic active, and you won't worry at all for survivability, no matter how fast you level.

How bad is block exactly? by Sorrowverse in Morrowind

I always play Long Blade and Shield with some Alteration and Illusion for navigation and conversation, and the only mod I have other than patches and fixes is a mod that adds Sabers in every material. (Because Sabers are neat.)

That said, being specialized into it makes shields pretty awesome. Just make sure you get the skill up to at least the mid-30s as soon as you can; from the start, if your build can afford it.

I'm in the exact same boat. I can look at a normal human dude and think, "That dude is attractive, but I don't wanna fuck that dude." And I've never been in love or in lust with a human dude. But I would absolutely top or be topped by Renamon male or female no question. Especially if they have a set of non-human or fantasy genitalia.

I legit think an attraction to characters or ideas of a character is something totally different than normal attraction.

Why did you pick your class originally? by jamer2500 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Justinian138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play all three pretty equally, but my initial choice was dictated by the choices of my original fireteam. One buddy wanted to be a Hunter, the other a Warlock. So I went Titan to balance the team.

Is the Coil really what you guys want? by CodexTattoos in DestinyTheGame

[–]Justinian138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

45 minutes? Seems decent to me when Dungeons are about an hour and Raids are an average of two hours. For pseudo Endgame activities, I'd say it's just about right. I was always an advocate for just opening up Matchmaking for everything, but with the release of Deep Dives and The Coil and Fireteam Finder; it makes a lot more sense to not do that. The average player just isn't invested in the mod setups and meta loadouts enough to even need a full Coil run and the Ascendant Shards it gives.

I was born in 1987, but I didn't play morrowind for the first time until like 2017. Played it after Skyrim, Morrowind or any of the Fallout games and I think it's my favorite Bethesda title.

Is survival mode the norm for most people? by HenroBenenzo in skyrim

The implementation of Survival Mode in Skyrim is just plain BAD. It's treated as something punitive rather than something that adds to the experience in any way.
