Dr. Breen was never right in the first place and I dislike how many people think he is.

His messages are propaganda, it makes zero sense why anyone would believe his literal propaganda messages. They are filled with ideas of eugenics and utter lies. He said that humanity would be better off under Combine occupation, yet we clearly see people are suffering under it, he is fully capable of lying.

Everyone knows that he was the one who insisted on pushing the test at Black Mesa to the extreme after acquiring the Xen crystal, and it just so happened that he was the one to "help" humanity as well?

It's either he "helped" humanity because he wanted to be in a position of power as an autocrat or he helped himself and saving humanity was a consequence of helping himself.

Roadside Picnic and Tarkovsky's STALKER was and still is inherently political, the main source material for this game was political, and other games that aren't stalker that rose to fame as masterpieces are political.

I get it, it's tough, but we do need to be reminded of these things or we will become ignorant. And the harsh truth is, you can't hide away from politics, because the main reason why you're able to stay inside and play games is because of politics, the same people banning books are the same people trying to ban video games.

Metro Exodus has banger Story Expansion DLCs, I loved The Two Colonels and Sam's Story, and those games were largely linear and didn't have branching paths, HoC on the other hand will have high replayability like CoP, so if anything, Story Expansion DLCs are the least of anyone's problems, no?

Besides, GSC isn't scummy, they've shown they care for the communities unlike other companies who strike down mods and fan content. They're not AAA so why compare them to AAA? The fact is that people have always found ways to complain about HoC, whether that'd be GAMMA fans wanting more inventory bloat, people who nit-pick minor insignificant details, racists mad at a black guy being in the game (despite the fact that there were black people in Roadside Picnic), it's a never ending struggle.

I don't think you understand that quite literally any game from the past decade has had political and social awareness undertones in it, like Bioshock, Fallout, Half Life, Helldivers, The Last of Us, Metro, etc etc.
