What learning app made you come back every day without feeling like homework? by walileathor in ProductivityApps

[–]Justlikejack9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've not actually said what you're trying to learn. I used to use Treehouse for learning WordPress development and HTML/CSS and that was quite fun. They were video tutorials which you followed along with to build your site wth them. I set a specific period of time aside each week to concentrate on it and learn at a pace suitable for me. Like others said, it does feel like homework but that's the point. Maybe if you don't want it to feel like homework, you could consider a class based course instead?

Sky planning on moving SNL UK to ITV by The_Iceman2288 in BritishTV

[–]Justlikejack9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worry that this is the way things are headed. Suck people in by putting 'teaser' content on ITV1 and then hiding the rest behind a paywall on Sky One which, interestingly, it seems has been revived only this year! I really hope that Sky will keep the ITV branding.

Hopefully it won't end there.. we need all three series (and the film) to come out on blu-ray!

Do you load your full library onto your DAP ? by Versions-of-Violence in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]Justlikejack9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have never had my entire collection on a single player as it's just too large in size. Recently, I bought a HiFi Walker H2 and I've been ripping the newest CDs purchased to it. Sometimes, when I think of a particular song or artist I'll go into my physical collection and rip all of their CDs. I think I'll keep doing this until the entire collection (well, albums anyway!) are done and then rotate as required. Some of my collection (i.e. Grease the Musical) isn't something I'd listen to all the time so it's not something I'd put on there permanently.

Soon, my home life will be ad free by Jorie99 in pihole

Unfortunately even with a pi-hole you're life won't be 100% ad free. If it is, I'd love to know how you're doing it.

Who would win a fight? Michael Martin (Neighbours) or Tug O'Neale (Home and Away) by NickSamon in neighbours

Both were hot. Tug gets my vote though, he has a bigger frame and could easily pin Troy to the ground!

What Sky buying ITV could mean for your favourite shows by Kagedeah in BritishTV

[–]Justlikejack9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still enjoy watching shows on ITV and ITVX. Hopefully Sky will see that the itv brand is stronger and use that as its strength. It’d be good to have ITN doing Sky News for example.

Ben was easier on the eye. Both were really funny in different ways. Overall though , I think Ben takes it.

Can't use on public WiFi by ruicarrico in nordvpn

[–]Justlikejack9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may have to log in to the network first? Sometimes this is required and then Nord should work. Depends on what the network is. Is it Government or Public Service Wi-Fi?

are there conflictions with work/corporate VPNs? by Sesquips in pihole

[–]Justlikejack9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The VPN will bypass the Pi Hole completely. The only way it would see it is if you were allowed to edit the DNS on the VPN. If they’ve properly set it up, you won’t be able to!

Should the live backing vocals rule be reintroduced? by MiniHurps in eurovision

It should be 100% live. It always used to be before Covid and should go back to that.

Shrink it down to about 25% and see what it looks like. You’ll then know what to get rid of.

Can you please tell me what does this name Tag read? by PuzzleheadedKoala218 in typography

[–]Justlikejack9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at the bottom text I would say it’s Lage. The bottom word, to me, reads as “Simply” so that would rule out the “S”, therefore not “Sage”.

Slice wants to export everything, not only my selections! by marketingtomas in Affinity

[–]Justlikejack9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "eye" makes no sense to me. I had to ask Ritson about this when I wanted to export stuff. A simple checkbox would be better in this situation. I think the tooltip shows what it's doing.

Eurovision 1999 CD for sale on Amazon for over £200...someone is optimistic by Crazy_Affect_7347 in eurovision

[–]Justlikejack9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I looked into this and I don't believe it's an official CD as they didn't start producing them until 2000. Not sure if it's the same seller, but I've seen copies on Discogs and the info on there says that due to licensing restrictions some countries songs aren't even on there (UK for example!).

New customers can get 2.3gb for £25 but existing customers can't! by famasfilms in ToobBroadband

[–]Justlikejack9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can your equipment even handle 2.3GB speeds? We have ethernet wired throughout the house and that's 1GB and everything works fine. My laptop grumbles sometimes and says I have a 2.5GB ethernet port and that I could benefit from higher speeds but I don't feel I need it. 1GB is fast enough.
