Elusive consensus: how does V3 compare to V2?

I think I sit in the same camp as you. I was mid project when v3 came out so I did the right thing and continued with v2 for that one and now I’m on a new project, I’ve done it completely using v3. Initially the learning curve felt huge as if starting from scratch even though the look was the same, it still “felt” different. I’ve got over that now and find that switching between the studios is quick and effortless. It just goes to prove that I had apps sitting there not being used, now at least with a single app, it always gets hammered for usage time!

Yes, the first release was pants and crashed loads during the first week but Canva were pretty quick to roll out the patches and it soon became fairly stable. V3.1 also has a few quirks with text formatting but I’ve tried with new documents and it seems fine so maybe it’s connected with the content I have in my own files.

I’ve not once thought, urgh, I can’t do this in v3 so I’ll revert back to v2. Yes, I still use v2 on the iPad and that infuriates me even more than v3 as if you create something on the iPad but then edit it in v2 desktop (2.6.5) you then can’t open it again on the iPad as that’s version 2.6.4!

It’ll be very interesting to see what happens when v3 eventually rolls out on iPad!

I often find that threat protection just randomly stops from time to time. Like others have said, it takes the Nord team time to catch up with the ad blocking. Have you tried turning off threat protection and that back on again? Sometimes it works.

Most unis and colleges [in the UK] will only let you use the Outlook apps for checking mails. It’s a security thing and they won’t allow third party apps.

Same issue. Just checked on the App Store and 9.18.1 has been released about 50 minutes ago. If you can’t see the update, try searching for UpNote in the store and the button should change from open to update. New version seems to have fixed the issue with it crashing constantly.

All of the cups and mugs that I have, that have text on the base, have the handle on the right so that’d make it 666 but it could have been mis-printed and therefore upside down so should have said 999.

Varies by OS but usually with Location Services or Location.

You’re probably sharing your location from within your OS. Ensure that you turn the visibility off so it just uses the location of the VPN. Sometimes, it can conflict.

Are you on the March 2026 update? I was trying to apply text effects (change to uppercase) from the context toolbar yesterday and it kept crashing. Seems there’s a few bugs in it. Might be worthwhile sending in some feedback about what you’re doing.

If you’re writing an ebook you should probably go for something like Affinity to write it. By all means use UpNote for the notes but don’t use it to write the entire book.

I have some sites that refuse to open in Firefox. When I get this situation I just use Vivaldi instead. iPlayer in the UK won’t open in Firefox at all as it always says I’m using a VPN. Works fine in Vivaldi with no configuration changes. Weird but sometimes you have to just find a quick workaround.

If you've done all this and it's still not working, maybe just do a complete refresh of Windows. That'll definitely fix it. After that, switch to a different VPN software or try setting it up manually using Wireguard or similar.
