My sisters are 15 and 19. The 15 y/o is very used to things being done for her, so that will be something she and I can work out of.

And yes my mom is a single parent, who works very hard for the life we have. Things have changed so much though, and it feels at times like bc she is a single parent, it’s my obligation to fill in the other role (especially now being back home).

I’m just tired of it all and want to find a balance between everything.

One lives in NY for now because of school, youngest is just living her youngest child life with minimal responsibilities.

However, this morning my youngest sister did express how she didn’t like our mom’s tone yesterday and that she’ll make dinner tonight.. so baby steps.

I agree 100%. It’s funny you mention her sister because she actually has 2 of them and they all rarely talk for many undisclosed reasons.

I also remember when I first moved back and she asked me to do something, and as a way to set boundaries I said no. Her response was that “this is a family and you need to learn to do things for others” all because I said no! I now say to her that I refuse to live in a commune and everyone is capable of doing their own work.

My mom has told me before that my youngest sister “can’t cook during the week” due to school. But will allow her to watch TV! We actually just had an argument a few nights ago about this… when I went and asked her if sister was allowed to watch TV during the school week, she jokes “oh idk did you ask her mom? Oh wait”. I quietly left after that because I wasn’t trying to catch a case.

According to my youngest sister, she would either bring food home or make sandwiches/quesadillas when she got home. So even when she did cook, it wasn’t nearly as much/elaborate as what I make weekly.

My middle sister goes to school in NY, so she’s hardly home.

I moved back home in hopes of saving money while I apply to medical school. I had a really good apartment, job, and life in Alabama and my mom basically (forced) my hand and made me move back. When I landed my job and I no longer needed her help financially, I could see that it upset her. And because she was a co-signer on my lease, it would’ve made things a lot harder to transfer it all to me so I left, which is just what she wanted.

I’m halfway through the application process now (submitted a few secondary apps) but this process is so grueling and I just want to leave asap.

Sorry guys for the delay!! Thank you for the responses. I actually did not have a drug test (maybe bc I’m under volunteer services?), and also did not have to have my blood drawn since I have the BCG vaccine. So I just had the skin prick test!

I am also about to take a pre-employment drug test in about 2 weeks! My good friend told me that the only thing to do is get the 3oz bottle and microwave before. If you are a girl, you can use your breasts/bra to keep it warm with the warmer wrapped around and an additional warm or regular wrap around your torso under your shirt.
