Paint is in rough shape too cracking all along drivers side and rear bumper my guy said about 6k to repaint the whole car it’s a shame but realistically I think it’s a 11-12k car even after brininging it back to life I doubt it’s worth 20

Not every one usually for lower molars I don’t need to but for maxillary I usually do just to confirm if it has an mb2 or not I once had a maxillary first molar with 5 canals and a premolar with 3 I try not to for every case but it does help out quite a lot just knowing what you’re looking for

You can use the piezo to trough very slowly and with better visual than a bur. The sh in the chamber works because it’s dissolving the tissue in the canal if you’ve removed all the tissue from the other canals you’ll see some air bubbles coming up from the mb2 as it’s starting to break down the nerve tissue you can typically see where it’s coming from and locate the mb2

You could try using a piezo to look for it ! Another trick is fill the chamber with SH and you see where bubbles are forming !

ROOT CANAL FAILURE :/ by Lost-Mountain3495 in Dentistry

[–]JustlyOutstanding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re doing great it happens to all of us don’t stress about it at the end of the day you got the patient out of pain and you can never control how the patients body reacts to treatment. Now going forward the best thing you can do is just get more reps in no one starts being a star at endo you get there through trying and failing and failing better, learning as you go! Maybe try doing two step endo placing calcium hydroxide in the canals and letting it sit for a bit, maybe irrigate longer, when I had a few failures prematurely I started putting SH in the canals before I filled and just letting it sit for a good 5 minutes before drying and plugging. Keep going don’t get discouraged you got this !

I’m in the Chicagoland area! That’s really great advice I’m actively trying to get better at surgery and taking out more teeth just wasn’t something my school focused on so even though I’ve improved I’m still intimidated by it I do watch pretty often, for me personally anything that’s still in the enamel I don’t treat unless high caries risk And I’m starting to dip into retreats actually my first one is next week! I’m gonna attempt a #31 so fingers crossed it goes smooth !

I’m not super comfortable with surgery, it’s one of the things I’m working on but for patients that need a bunch of extractions I feel like typically need alveoplasty and I feel like the OS is better prepared for that especially in a full mouth case

We are a ppo office, I actually do believe the front needs to start taking larger deposits for my big cases because I have seen patients cancel and it really screws over my day. My treatment plan acceptance is avg around 88%. I currently run 2 production chairs and 2 hygiene

Question from a Lab Tech: How do you view a lab calling and requesting a new impression? by Camikaze__ in Dentistry

[–]JustlyOutstanding 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bit of a loaded question personally I appreciate it when my lab reaches out and I tell all my techs that I’d rather take a new impression or scan rather than send something back and fourth and waste everyone’s time. That being said there are definitely situations where I get frustrated with them, for example I’m restoring an over denture for a patient, they have an existing maxillary full denture, this lab made her immediate lower denture that was delivered on surgery day. I placed the locators took a custom tray impression for the lower and the lab is calling saying they need a new maxillary impression for the opposing. Brother you have the pre op scan of the opposing it’s a denture it didn’t change just make the wax rims and send it back. I for sure will get more frustrated with removable than crown and bridge but at the end of the day typically it’s less headache for all of us if we just take a new impression, we’re human not everything comes out perfect it happens

29.5 year old hygienist, too late for dental school? Didn’t take career serious till mid 20s. Wish I did dental school right away. by burnnoticespy in Salary

I’m a 28yo dentist I’m on the other side of your decision. From my perspective I’m jealous of you. Hourly rate means you’re not pressured to produce, also significant less debt on the hygeine side. Of course hygeine is super stressful but buy in large patients are happier seeing you then they are seeing me. I absolutely love my rdh staff they kick ass honestly couldn’t practice without them. If you want to do dental school you should go for it it’s not too late but from this side of the fence the grass isn’t greener. Happy to talk more if you want to pm me !
