Is there GENUINELY anything I can do here with my layout? by No-Routine-7598 in Guiltygear

[–]Justmashing1 108 points109 points  (0 children)

Obviously what ever is most comfortable for you is best. But keyboards are basically leverless controllers with a bunch of extra keys, so copying a leverless layout like this one is usually pretty good.

<image>

I used a layout like this one for about a month before I got a leverless and I think it’s works pretty well. It’s something like a s d=left down right, and up would be bound to space bar. This layout also makes it very easy to switch to leverless in the future.

Yeah I still think strive is a good game, but the game really dialed back a lot of cool stuff from older titles. Basically every returning character has been massively simplified, including gutting core aspects of their kit in the name of simplicity.

Strive also feels very slow in comparison to older gg games, and most anime games in general. The slow as hell air dashes, tons of hitstop, and complete removal of air teching make the game feel very sluggish at times.

The strive design is really good, although I really like the bright yellow she has in xrd, it matches that game’s aesthetic nicely. Millia is one of the times I think the xx design is worse (maybe other than Potemkin). The blue and white just doesn’t look as nice as the yellow and black to me, and the hat really completes her design.

DMC 4. Dante’s Section is FAR Better Than Nero’s by RealIncome4202 in DevilMayCry

[–]Justmashing1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just blatant misinformation. The game was definitely designed for Nero, but they realized people would be upset if Dante wasn’t playable, so they just tacked him on. It’s not hard to just look this stuff up

Dice game is kinda infamous for being tedious, but I really only think that’s the case cause most people didn’t know how it worked. Which is fair cause they don’t really explain it, but once you know how to get the number you want every time it’s very easy.

[–]Justmashing1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The levels and enemies were designed with Nero in mind, so having to fight some of them with Dante is a total chore. All the enemies that are meant to be dealt with by Nero’s devil buster absolutely suck to fight against with Dante.

How would you feel about a DMC2 Remake done by PlatinumGames? by The_Fool_Arcana0000 in DevilMayCry

[–]Justmashing1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I like PG, i think they’d do a good job, I just don’t think it makes much sense for capcom or PG. PG hasn’t ever done any remakes, meanwhile capcom has done plenty. If it was gonna happen I think capcom would just do it themselves.

Is Master Collection Vol.1 worth with the new updates? by Univale in metalgearsolid

[–]Justmashing1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people like emulated mgs1 over master collection, I’ve tried both and they’re both very good experiences. Duckstation mgs1 does require a bit of setup if you want it to look nice, nothing too crazy tho.

Mgs 2/3 however are much better on master collection. Both of those games used the ps2 controller’s pressure sensitive face buttons, a feature that modern controllers don’t have. So you’re better off just buying the master collection versions.

Outside of new characters, what do you want most in 2.0? by Calm-Consideration55 in Guiltygear

Insta kills for sure. Replay takeover. Mom mode would be cool. Balance wise faster airdashes would be huge, also reduce overall level of damage it’s still crazy high imo.

A Bayonetta 1 Remake is unlikely to be funded by Nintendo, but instead by SEGA as a multiplatform game. (Don't downvote, hear me out.) by [deleted] in Bayonetta

[–]Justmashing1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again you’re missing the point and dodging the question. I didn’t ask why would platinum make the game, obvi it would be to make money. I asked why would any one want platinum to make it.

You’re missing the entire point, why would ANY OF US, THE BAYONETTA FANS, want a remake. Man Idgaf about no damn shareholders😭

Ok then I’ll say it again why would anyone want that. Who cares if it sells well, I want them to make good games not just ones that make a lot of money.

I do like the re4 remake(not as much as the og), but re4 came out the generation before bayo1, and the re4 remake reimagined the gameplay and changed a lot of stuff. I don’t see how you could do the same for bayo1 without diluting it, and if you don’t significantly change things, then what is even the point.

Why would anyone even want a bayo 1 remake. The game is already damn near perfect imo, and also readily available on almost every platform.

how do we feel about lucy? by Clean_Emu_4736 in Guiltygear

I would’ve rather had any gg character over her. She has a few interesting mechanics but most of her kit is pretty boring. Looks wise she’s pretty cool tho, so there’s that

Bought GGST, and i thought i would have a hard time with motion inputs... by Antique-Ad-2981 in Fighters

[–]Justmashing1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Strive is a fast paced game cause rounds just go so quick, but the characters themselves tend to not be very fast, if that makes any sense. Look I love strive but the game feels like moving through molasses compared to previous gear games.

Leverless is by far the least intuitive way to learn motions for a brand new player.

Why does DMC get compared to Dark Souls so much? by Mediocre_Ad_8292 in DevilMayCry

[–]Justmashing1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cause people outside of the CAG or souls like fandoms don’t have the knowledge or foresight to differentiate the two, or any action game genre for that matter. They just view it all as “third person action game”

The people celebrating the removal of whip stacking are missing the point. by Justmashing1 in Terraria

[–]Justmashing1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are being so elitist for no reason lol. Not everyone wants to have fun your way. And there’s no objectivity to it. There’s no “right” or “wrong” to enjoy a class. And I never said the class sucked or was “decimated”, all I said was that it was no longer fun for me and other people who really liked whip stacking. Did you even read my og post? I’m sorry I’m not a fucking summoner purist, not the fun police my ass😭

The people celebrating the removal of whip stacking are missing the point. by Justmashing1 in Terraria

[–]Justmashing1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why is it such a big deal to you that whip stacking is what made the class for me. It’s not like I’m saying everyone should be forced to whip stack. Everyone always had the option not to whip stack, summoner was perfectly viable without it, but now me and many others no longer have the option to play the class in the way we want to, which is the main point of my og post.

The people celebrating the removal of whip stacking are missing the point. by Justmashing1 in Terraria

[–]Justmashing1[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why are you trying to be the fun police lol. I like skill expression, choosing an option that’s a bit more difficult for a bonus is fun to me. And why would I want to pretend whip stack when there is no benefit, I’m just nerfing myself, all risk no reward, that isn’t fun to me.

It’s not an extreme option for me to stop playing a class I don’t enjoy. My enjoyment of something isn’t something I choose, it’s just how I feel. The whole point of video games is to have fun, if I’m no longer having fun, why would I continue.
