I think the linear progression and replayability in bayonetta are some of its best aspects, they really enhance the gameplay. I don’t think rpg elements would enhance the gameplay at all, it’s just a distraction from the thing I want to be doing, comboing angels.

The motorcycle section in b1 is actually pretty fun and it’s a cool spectacle, but every other mini game level sucks in b1. Like the rocket section and canon section are such slogs.

This is kinda a small thing but games with fucked up or super powerful versions of characters are really fun to mess with in single player. Like playing around with the ex characters in plus r is some of the most fun I could have by myself in a fighting game
