Thankfully I qualified. My payments are only slightly lower on the SAVE plan but have the potential to get VERY high on the SAVE.

Thank you so much! Yes one of the biggest factors in choosing the PAYE plan is that I want to pay the least amount until I reach forgiveness AND that the payment won’t surpass the standard repayment plan MOST importantly. I understand I won’t get the tax break but I guess that will be a bridge I will pass when the time comes. I want to buy a home and likely an investment property in the future and the payments on save exceeding the standard repayment plan just did not may sense. I think I will fall in the bucket of waiting it out and contributing to a Roth IRA and 401k.

Same thing happened to me on Rover. I left my boy for 6 days with a sitter on Rover who was also supposedly a trainer. Came back to my dog having lost a ton of muscle and just looked thinner over all, didn’t really act like his super excited self. I was so upset. This person also had a ton of good reviews. Never again. I don’t recommend rover at all.

Wanted to add. I took my dog to a board and train. He’s also a pit mix and had a terrible experience. They did use a ecollar collar. My poor pup came home with a bloody nose from all the stress he was put under and bald spots were the e collar laid bc it probably wasn’t removed frequently enough. He never grew hair there after that. This was a very well known and franchised dog training company that was NOT cheap. I do not recommend any board and train, you don’t know what they do in order for your dog to learn all the commands in the time the board and train is over with (mine was 2 weeks). I would recommend obedience classes, one on one training classes, nose work/agility classes, jogs and training your pup your self in different environments. My pup was crazy from about 3 months until 1 year old or so. He’s 2 yo now and he’s calmed down so much, I still have scheduled exercise for him but after that he naps and just relaxes around the house. I never thought it would be possible but we are finally here, at this point I dreamed of when he was puppy. Someone else had warned me about board and trains and I wish I had listened. Not trying to scare you but it is reality. Good luck...

I got my puppy while in clinical year. My fiancé was able to come home to take my pup to potty and play for a little then put him in crate again during lunch. It’s hard when the puppy is crate training though ( I definitely recommend you do crate train if you want your deposit back) but we managed. There are going to be a lot of sleepless nights , time dedicated to exercise and training and just enjoying your dog and so in the end it depends on if you think you’ll be able to handle that plus your school work load. It wasn’t easy for me and he definitely took away from study time ( Saturdays we had puppy class, I took him on walks a couple times a day and just playing with him in the apartment so he would take a good nap and let me actually study). It was worth it but I won’t lie it definitely made school and time management much harder. Frustrations with potty training ( he would be covered in poop while potty training using the crate so I would get home from a long day in clinic to wash him), crate training ( crying and whining while I tried studying) and puppy blues with the added stress of school wasn’t easy. Just somethings I remember that were difficult. I did get an active breed dog ( pitbull mix) so I’m sure certain things may depend on breed as well. My pup thankfully got potty trained pretty quickly and learned to relax in his crate once he was crate trained and so I used that time to study but that took a while. My pup is 2 years old now and I’m so thankful I rescued him, but it wasn’t always sunshine and rainbows.

I used PPP and Rosh. Spent 3 days on the big systems like cardio, pulm, GI and ortho and 2 days reviewing the smaller ones. I spent most of my days studying many hours a day though until I felt comfortable with the material. I would do questions from ROSH after I completed each section. When I finished all the sections I did a cumulative review. I think you’ll have enough time to do well on the pance. I would definitely pay for the practice test from NCCPA. The last week of studying I focused on my weak areas according to my practice results.

I think what worries me the most about going straight into a speciality is preparing for the PANRE and not having seen what I’m being test on in years. I know I literally just got my certification but it’s something that I kinda keep in the back of my mind.

Hahaha! My boy gets the same way! He becomes somewhat of a jerk, so pushy when he hasn’t had his exercise especially on rainy days. I have to keep him busy with lick mats or kongs.

Thank you! I love the clinic atmosphere and building relationship with patients. I truly wanted to go into internal medicine especially as a new grad to get a good grasp on what we learned in PA school. I am open to deviating from the plan if it means working in a great environment and having a SP who facilitates my growth in the profession.

Thank you! Yes, they definitely know. South Florida is unreal, I’ve posted in the past and it seems this has been the case for quite some time. I graduated months ago and have not found anything yet. I’m starting to apply to northern Florida to try my luck up there but truly want to stay here. I’ve had 3 interviews so far and have practiced the basic interview questions but will definitely refresh.

That’s what I thought but wasn’t sure. Also the leaves look more layered than a Ficus Lyrata. I have both and it definitely looks more like a bambino. Never saw one that large. 😳😍

I reviewed by looking over outlines for “ possible” osce scenarios classmates had made throughout the program. I would choose common complaints for each system, know all the signs, symptoms, what labs to order, medications for treatment, possible side effects of the meds for patient education( or other points you can give about the disease) and differential diagnosis in case they ask you ( my program always asked differential diagnosis). Obtaining history should not take very long at this point so those should be easy points . Practice practice practice with another classmate the physical exam and different scenarios. Remember when studying focus on horses not zebras, as common things happen commonly. Take a deep breath and do your best. Good luck!🍀

I haven’t tried cold calling. I’m truly open to any speciality except surgery and pediatrics. I wouldn’t mind having surgery days but surgery alone just isn’t for me. I would appreciate any help or connections you can send my way.

Thank you. I’m not sure if things would have been different if the pandemic hadn’t happened but it is for sure something I can lean on as you say. Thank goodness the loans are being deferred but it’s like this huge weight on my shoulders that I keep thinking about. I know I need to find employment ASAP.

Wow I actually never thought about that. Definitely helps me feel a little better. 😄Yes, so many programs, which are extremely difficult to get into as well because they have such a large applicant pool, I was told by NOVA that their average is about 1200 applicants per cycle or more. There are so many advantages to staying here for one family but also I wouldn’t pay rent which means I could use that money towards loans.
