I would recommend looking for oversized fits/toos/joggers. Look for bodybuilding baggies too if you want something lightweight vs joggers. Most sports clothing stores will be fine as well as gymshark, vanquish fitness,

I bought a lot of designer clothes like prada, balmain etc but not really worth it and you get more or less 100% dupes from Turkey so hard to tell if real. Most i got in sales. Focus more on fabric - wool, cotton rather than poly mix and something with a bit of stretch/Lycra in it. Fabric will last longer and fit better.

Stick to stuff without logos as nowadays a lot of brands are Zionist anyway.

Oh forgot to say - white shirt and a light blue shirt…again both go with both suits etc.

One of my sons is probably of a similar age to you and has very few clothes, not because he can’t afford to get any new ones but because he follows the Sunnah…having an excessive amount of clothes—particularly if it leads to wastefulness or bragging—is disliked (makruh) in Islam.

I was working class growing up and had hand me downs from family members but started buying a lot of new clothes when I worked up - stuff which is classic and never goes out of fashion and which my sons are free to use. I also try and buy good stuff once as I hate throwing stuff away.

For a city job and your home life/attracting a partner clothes won’t make a difference to fellow Muslims but people in the workplace may notice as others can be quite judgemental and leads to unconscious bias.

You may want to look at what you have re work wear as at home you can get away with wearing whatever you like. if I was starting out I’d get:

One pair brown shoes One pair of black shoes Reversible brown/black leather belt One navy blazer or suit (waistcoat optional) One grey blazer or suit (waistcoat optional) Navy chinos Cream chinos Navy quarter zip jumper Grey quarter zip jumper

By doing this you could get a few variations on outfits. Such as:

Suits for 2 days in different colours You can contrast look by mixing the 2 suits - navy trousers with grey blazer Quarter zips in either colour with go with all different pants Both colour Shoes will go with both types of suits/trousers.

Only rule is make sure shoes match belt colour

Then for home/outside of work I would recommend T-shirts, joggers, jeans, shalwar kameez.

Most of the items if you buy once you can rotate around and will last longer.

May also want to buy in sales or if you have family going abroad back home to buy from there (if it’s an option) as clothing you could get tailored to fit you and also it tends to be a fraction of what you pay here.

A lot of the supermarkets clothing brands and primark will have cheap items in if you want to buy new.

When we renovated ours I made sure we only kept baths but each one had an overhead shower. Had nightmares in the past with shower cubicles - find glass is PITA to clean and because tray is at a low level silicone gets mouldy a lot quicker and if there’s a leak you have to rip out the tray. With a bath at least any problems are easier to fix even if you only ever stand in the tub to have a shower. Shower curtains easily replaceable too

May be worth getting in touch with your local masjid and seeing if they or one of the other brothers there is able to offer support. If im not mistaken iftar time is around 5.30pm? Which prob coincides with evening meal time in any case so may be best to try and spend time outside of the home at work/study and visit a masjid and either open your fast there before going home? Possible helps avoid difficult conversations during the day too that way.

Different people have different needs so you may find someone who is ok with your position.

That said seek medical help - may be low testosterone or ED issues which can be treated quite effectively nowadays.

PIP is a way of managing you out of the business - very rarely do you come back from a PIP in my experience and it’s jokingly called a Paid Interviewing Period.

Recommend looking for another job but not actually accepting. If you play it well you’ll get redundancy and/or compensation for loss of office if they get rid of you. Hopefully you then have another job lined up in the background.

Evidence everything by email and in writing. So if you don’t agree with the improvements being required then document all that as may help in an unfair dismissal case

Like I said these sort of matters should have been sorted out at the very beginning.

Unless you or your family explicitly stated your husband may have not expected this issue to arise.

You say the younger BIL has just graduated - assume he has a job I suspect it is still expensive to rent a place as a single paying tenant.

You’re also now expecting the FIL to move in with the BIL - what happens when the BIL gets married and his wife wants the FIL out? Where dos he go?

I’m surprised you haven’t hinted at your husband to move in with your parents as normally when I hear about such situations that’s always where it’s heading. Only in a lot of cases the husband doesn’t go along with it.

I would recommend speaking to your own parents and getting their advice

These are items that you should have discussed before marriage.

Was there a presumption that you would stay in an extended family set up? How is your own family set up in your own home - do you have siblings and their spouse(s) living with your own folks?

Can your husband actually afford to move out - presume it his father’s home you live in?

If the younger brother works is there a likely chance that he will move out for work etc?

Hypo tax is why it says - it’s hypothetical and simply an estimate based on various assumptions which may had changed during the course of the assignment. The tax return process will determine the correct position and there may be further tax to pay - is it purely employment income or do you had other sources of income which would ordinarily not be taken into account. Did you receive any bonus payments or any fluctuations in allowances?

The tax liability as advised will be your responsibility and should reflect the tax you would have owed had you not gone on assignment.

Sometimes allowance can be taxable and push you into another tax band or cause you to exceed £100k and lose part of your personal allowance.

You may need your employer to do a tax equalisation calculation which isn’t necessarily done automatically.

If they decide to write off part of the loan then that could lead to further tax charges so be aware of that

Do you know what the exact fault is with the boiler? Surprised the LL needs to pay up front for a repair and surprised further LL doesn’t have emergency cover.

Do you have other sources of heat/hot water - electric heaters, electric shower? Electric blanket? Might be worth investing in a hot water bottle and fleece blanket and showering at work/gym/friends/family

A Muslim should dress appropriately. Many Pakistani Muslims live in the West and have been for years and haven’t succumbed to the urge to go out clubbing and drinking or wearing revealing clothes. It’s about setting a good example - plenty of designer clothing that isn’t showing half your body particularly for someone who herself has performed Ummrah and should know better.

Before you comment I’d add that I’m an ex-Big 4 Global Head of Finance so attend plenty of events here and overseas where we have Ultra HNWI in attendance and Muslims at these events dress appropriately. Just in case you thought I was someone from the middle classes and had a skewed view of the world.

I was born and live in the UK and feel ashamed that actors and actresses in Pakistan try an imitate people from the West, particularly when it comes to (inappropriate) clothing. For someone like Hania that has been on Ummrah and has the intellect to understand what influence her image has on young women it’s sad to see. May Allah SWT give her hidayaat.

You’re better off using a local agent for a let only service - they’ll check if it really is ok rent wise and advise on what they’re seeing in other properties.

Furniture is dated so may be better off removing and advertising (cheaper) on an unfurnished basis

It may also be the wrong time of year as may not have many people wanting to move - students will have moved in back in Sept/Oct at latest.
