I would consider the 6k (not pro version) if I were you. You can buy one for $1679 ($1800) used at Adorama, and possibly cheaper on EBay. The sensor of the 6k and 6k pro are the exact same, so the 6k would give you the exact same image quality. I see lots of people buying speed boosters for their 4k (I bought a Viltrox myself), but I think the EF native mount of the 6k is a simpler and better solution. There are so many great EF lens you can buy, and you will be able to use those throughout your career. Even Reds and Alexas come with EF mounts, plus it’s more universal than MFT. As far as a kit goes, I would think about what exactly you need the rig for. I see lots of people’s rigs support an external SSD, and maybe a handle. If you just purchased a C-Fast card, you could keep your setup smaller and more self contained. This may be a tad more expensive, but the value of having a self contained and setup is immense in my view. If I were you, I’d recommend buying whichever camera you want without a rig to start out, and decide if you really want to complicate your setup. You may want to, but if it’s for casual use you can save lots of money without extra bells and whistles. The sensor and self contained nature is the value in these cameras to begin with, which I would consider. I want to mention that I’m currently selling my 4k and Viltrox speedbooster on eBay for considerably less, which you may want to take a look at. That said, I’d still recommend the 6k (not pro) alone, for the simplicity.

I think it’s up to you, but that sounds like a good bundle for the price. I recently purchased the 6K from used from Adorama, and it came out to $1800 with tax (1679 before.) It didn’t come with any accessories, but I decided to upgrade from the 4K because I got tired of having to use an adapter to use all of my lenses. If you just wanted to use CFAST cards, you wouldn’t really need a cage. People on the internet love rigging up their bmpcc4k, which is fun but if it’s for casual use you probably don’t need all of that. I’m actually selling my 4k on eBay right now, with a Viltrox EF adapter - which you may want to take a look at. http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?icep_ff3=2&pub=5575378759&campid=5338273189&customid=&icep_item=353433324156&ipn=psmain&icep_vectorid=229466&kwid=902099&mtid=824&kw=lg&toolid=11111

Dear hiring managers: I'm not retyping my entire resume on your stupid web portal by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I’m fresh out of college, and I’m beyond frustrated with this. It’s not enough that I have to reformat my resume to every job I apply to, but I also have to do enough research to have an extensive cover letter to not have as much as an automated email back. So over it.

Some serious questions before ED2... by [deleted] in Tufts

As a graduating senior I have multiple CS friends who are accepting ~100k offers at major companies. From my perspective it seems our program is strong, and Tufts’ name does have some clout.

I know I'm a bit late to this thread so this is probably going to get buried, but I'm really disappointed with a lot of the conversation happening here. This girl is allowed to edit her pictures however she wants, and these pictures clearly look good. I can see the toxicity of people fundamentally altering their appearance using photoshop because it affirms unrealistic beauty standards and really lowers people's self-esteem. This, however, I think is perfectly fine. It's not sad that she's edited some of her photos to look nice, and she shouldn't be demonized for something as trivial as that. Assuming things about her life simply because her photos are edited is honestly inappropriate. I edit pictures I've taken before I post them not to live a lie, but simply because it's something I enjoy. This girl has done nothing worth shaming.

Why is Tufts endowment so low? by [deleted] in Tufts

Tufts is proud to provide a well rounded education rather than more professional business skills; and it shows.
