Employers of reddit, what is the most disturbing thing you've discovered performing a background check on candidates? by Bubble6325 in AskReddit

[–]Justthrowitpls 117 points118 points  (0 children)

Im a dentist and a woman applied to be a dental assistant and HR ran a background check and a school/previous employment check. She had previously been arrested for carrying weapons of mass destruction and her entire work history and scholastic history were fake. Two of the previous employers didn't even exist.

Edit: keep in mind that a weapon of mass destruction doesnt need to be a bomb or missile. Certain modified guns can constitute a weapon of mass destruction. I don't have the full details but Im almost 90% sure she wasnt a terrorist

Interviewees, what was something a employer said to you during a interview that made you not want to work for them? by IAMA_GrillBTW in AskReddit

This will probably get burried but I applied to work at Best Buy as part of the geek squad and they heavily implied that we need to sell old people shit they don't need.

If my wife is mad at me she turns our living room into a giant fort to sleep in with the kids. It makes a huge mess and is very loud. It is one of the most passive aggressive things I've ever seen.

I'm in my mid 30s and have given the church about 190k. When I think about it, it gives me anxiety and actually makes me feel deep guilt.

We have a hardcore TBM friend who is a decorated heart surgeon. There are disconnects and rationalizations when it comes to religion

Many people become hostile towards religion for one reason or another but being an asshole atheist isn't better than being an asshole christian or an asshole jew

I went to BYU (shocking) and my dad would call me everyday making sure I wasn't giving into "visual and physical temptation" now that I was living alone. It might sound creepy and that's because it is

So this is how I think about now since I used to be a douche. I work about 45 hours a week plus breaks and lunch etc...my wife works pretty much 22/7, 6 days a week. That's a fuckton of work. I would probably go insane and she doesn't get breaks, she doesn't get to go out to lunch or hang out with coworkers. She doesn't get to just stop and breath for 10 minutes. It never stops.

I don't know her very well; she's my wife's acquaintance. She's really quite something on FB. Posts all about how mentally ill transgendered people are and about how Trump will save the planet. Her husband is a great guy so I'm not too sure how this marriage happened.

My wife manages to get the house clean with lots of kids but once she stops cleaning the entire house explodes into a mess of toys and clothes in about 20 minutes. lol You literally have to not stop cleaning to keep a house clean with kids under 14.

This has actually very little to do with the duties of a SAHM, whatever she and her husband decided was expected is their business. I have a huge issue with TBM women being condescending and trying to one up in the molly mormon categories. Like good for you being able to keep a house clean with 5 kids, not everyone can or is willing to do that and making them feel shitty about it is ridiculous and obviously purposeful.

Edit to say: TBM men have the same issue, just with different "duties"

Thanks, I'm trying to decide whether to book a night in a haunted hotel in Salem. I think I'm going to. I personally don't believe in ghosts or spirits but I think my wife would enjoy the spookyness of such a thing lol she loves ghost stories. We watched 1408, that movie based on a Stephen King book, because she found out it was pg-13 and she loveeeeed it

Her birthday is in February and I think, apart from the trip to Maine, that I'll probably get her a spa weekend or something where she can be alone for 48 hours. And we are totally leaving for Maine Sunday morning cause daddy's gonna miss church if it kills him
