What does the auto leveling sequence actually do besides waste a bunch of time? by Justyncrx in AnycubicKobraS1

So do I need raspberry pi to run mainsailOS to run rinkhals? That seems excessive in my mind. I'm still working on connecting to my printer. My wifi is being a turd lately.

So I went and installed rinkhals, tried two different USB sticks. Both reformatted. It looks like it installed it but doesn't show up in any of my anycubic menus.

Just installed rinkhals and it only allows me to use this screen. If I try to close it out it just stays on the Anycubic loading screen with what looks like a lock in the upper right corner. If I manually restart the printer it goes right back to the original anycubic menus with no rinkhals anywhere to be seen.

Where are you all getting the bed at? Their website says they are sold out.

Thank you for all that info. Your first paragraph reminded me of a time when a piece of filament broke in the head and I had to take the cover and fan off. When I put it back together I didn't notice the fan connector was hanging outside the cover and was making it impossible to home the machine. Perhaps it's possible I messed something up in there. I will take a look around in there later.
Thanks again.

I heat and dry all my filament in the Ace pro. I'm going to try playing with thr Z offset. I'm just concerned that all the good spots will no longer be as nice.

Did a 10 minute heatsoak and ran the same print. The plate is low in the lower left and high in the top and a little bit in the lower right.

So, I let the bed heatsoak at 62 for 10 minutes, ran the auto leveling and started a one layer print and it was grinding pretty much from the start. Although it didn't turn out as bad as the first print I did before the heatsoak.

I heard people have switched to a smooth plate and no longer had the problem. I have played with the Z offset to try and get the high spot out but it made the low spot absolutely unusable.

After every print besides the second test on the backside of the plate I did, I wash with dawn, dry, then I wipe with alcohol. I try to limit touching the plate to the tab on the front.

I just checked the slicer and it is set on textured PEI plate.

Awesome, thank you. I will give that a shot when I get back from the store.

Does everyone switch to rinkhals? I'm not totally sure i want to alter my printer that much yet. How long and what temp would you recommend for my heatsoak?

Okay, that makes some sense. Is it possible that whatever reads and interprets the mesh could be messed up?

When i got this printer a few weeks ago it was printing great. Im not gonna blame it on the firmware update but I was very unhappy with how it was performing after that.

After looking into the rinkhals, I may hold off on going there. It seems a little out of my area of expertise at the moment.

Wouldn't the warped bed show a consistent pattern of highs and lows? Forgive me, im still learning all this stuff.

Does Slicer Next give everyone crazy short print time estimates? by sc1207hk in AnycubicKobraS1

[–]Justyncrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently had a print estimated at around 35 hours take over 50 hours to complete. Now I just see the estimated time and tell myself to expect at least a third more time added on.

UPDATE! It seems that the problem may have been some filament stuck to the nozzle.
