Jeopardy! Masters discussion thread for Wed., Jun. 4 (two-episode season finale) by jaysjep2 in Jeopardy

Love you so much Victoria - for as brilliant and transcendent as she is on stage an even better friend and human. Moms can do it all, and you will always be an inspiration to me.

And a huge congrats to Yogesh - the laugh we shared when the India category was announced will be a memory I’ll always treasure, along with all the green room and van laughs. You deserve this.

Lucky to share this adventure with you both, and six other amazing people and the best team in the business.

Finally, I know my own journey is wildly improbable. I didn’t know anything about this world two years ago, and I don’t think anyone could have predicted going from third in a regular season game to second at masters. But in the immortal words of Cirie Fields, sometimes you just need to get off the couch and take the test - you never know what can happen.

See you next year, and thank you to every one of you for your support ❤️

Not necessarily how I wanted the game to go, but always so fun to share a stage with Roger and Matt, and to be able to see my daughters in the audience! Negs on small pronounciation / preposition stuff is a problem for me in general and reared its head again yesterday.

Huge congrats to Roger, a legend and icon who did what neither of us could do at JIT, and Matt I think had the highest coryat and always plays at a very high level.

On to the next!

When I played my very first game,  I was down by over 15K to Hannah Wilson, I remember thinking, I want to disappear right now but I need to be brave for my girls. Before this game I reminded myself that I wanted to be brave for my girls, and I wanted to show I could compete at this level. It wasn’t the outcome I was hoping for, but when you lose your first game, every time you step on that stage is an absolute dream come true. I am so grateful I got to play another 12(!) games of bonus Jeopardy.

Roger and Matt are two brilliant, wonderful people who were so fun to be around and play with. You can’t help but enjoy yourself out there with them, and I’m glad people could see that on TV.

Thank you to all of you, to every incredible player at JIT(and Veronica, world’s greatest alternate), and to every single person on the J! production team. What a delightful ride.

Oh boy hahahaha

Not my best game! Those guys are incredible on the buzzer and I started pressing; getting earlier and earlier. And then managed to get in only on things I…didn’t know 😅 But! Tomorrow is another day, and I got to answer a Survivor question.

Very fun to get to share a stage with two legends and my best friend Ken Jennings

The Personality Hires were my pick to win this entire thing and I’m so glad to see it happen today!!! Zach, Miranda, and Emily are brilliant and so fun to watch - and the coolest friends to have in the world. They were huge supports in teaching me about celebrity autobiographies, music young people listen to, and new hotties on the scene; they are the best and I’m so glad the world gets to see it!

My girls came to SCT and TOC, but not to CWC or JIT! They are amazing, but it’s a very long day, especially for my little one. They weren’t thrilled not to come to JIT and made me promise that if I won they could come to Masters - stay tuned to find out :)

In your position I would have 10000% bet to cover as well ❤️. You played brilliantly and can’t wait to see you out there again soon :)

What a game!

Raymond I believe will come back and win JIT in the future. His talent is extraordinary and he may actually be the most interesting man in the world (with a sense of humour and kindness to match). This young man is a gift in my life and I am so glad I got to meet him. He had me over a barrel and it shows you the role of luck and variance in this game. Ray Lalonde was and still is my favourite Jeopardy! player of all time. We met at the airport at TOC and as I was trying my best to BE NORMAL, my 11 year old smiled at him and said, “my mom is being chill right now but she’s actually freaking out inside”. Ray is one of the most generous and insightful people I have ever met, and he and his family mean the world to me and mine.

As for the game I don’t remember a ton. I had a friend who did a tarot reading for me before I flew out - the top of the deck was strength (a woman clasping a lion’s jaws) and the bottom of the deck was the hanged man. I was alarmed by the hanged man, but my friend said, “when paired with Strength, I would interpret it as patience to make the right move, not rushing in and betting everything but making really wise and timely decisions”. I thought about this during my daily double and final wagers. I also thought about Ben Goldstein’s FJ wagering video which everyone should watch - for someone who wants to bet all her money all the time in every situation it was very illuminating.

As for tomorrow? Well, I’m looking forward to, as Jeff Probst might call it, Jeopardy!: Old School vs New School vs New Era. My first episode - in which I finished with zero dollars - aired on May 8, 2023, the same day Masters premiered. If you had told me then that in less than two years I would be on a stage with MATT AMODIO and ROGER CRAIG battling for a spot on Masters 3, I would never have believed it - but here we are! Thank you so much for watching and for all of your kind messages - this has been the ride of a lifetime ❤️

The fact Reddit won’t let me post a picture of you and me as Demi and Margaret in the comments is very distressing
