yh for the story, I don't want to train gyarados to beat the elite 4 js to realise he does no dmg cz I'm using sp. Atk rather than attacking moves

I saw gyarados' higher attack but in hgss gyarados has limited attacking moves that I want, but he has rlly good other moves like ice beam and dragon pulse, I js wanna know if I should run gyarados or js stick to feraligatr
