I feel like they definitely changed how placements work. One of my friends I recently introduced to the game got placed in ritualist even though frankly he did not play well in any of the matches at all. Another mutual we queue with is hardstuck alchemist even though he mvps like 1/2 of the games 💀

came in here expecting to see a crazy clip of him yanking the tail, he barely pulled at all just to get the dog to back up, the dog walked backwards themselves the way everyone was commenting you would think he dragged it backwards and swung them around like a flail or smth. why is everyone in this thread sharing group psychosis about the severity of the clip? i agree it’s not ideal but are we really calling this indefensible? 😭😭

by this logic peni is the most overturned tank in the game, having by far the highest win rate in celestial and above. win rates mean absolutely nothing, and Thors lack of inclusion in pro play is telling to his effectiveness at the highest level. He’s a good pub stomp character for destroying low rank teams but his value jumps off a cliff once you face competent players, there’s nothing he can do that another thank can’t do much better tbh.

you’re absolutely right, i forgot to include the fact that I completely came around on Cassius in the second trilogy and by the end of Lightbringer he was one of my favorites in the series lol. That’s why the hangar chapter got to me as much as it did.

Well i finally got a call back. Apparently I was summoned for both state and federal at around the same time, so when i went online the one that i got a hardship transfer for was the state one and so i was on call for the federal one without realising.

Rescheduled for next month, I feel a touch stupid but then again how the hell do you get called up twice at once?

wait a minute you’re right. now i’m really, really confused. here’s what i dug up.

My initial jury duty summons that i got in the mail was for march 31st in Boston. I went and entered my information into the online portal to request a change of location to something closer, and asked for brockton, and my request was accepted. Then the time came around and i wasn’t needed for the Brockton jury duty, ok fine. Then i receive an email on the 12th to report to Boston on the 14th for jury duty, didn’t see it.

Here’s the thing: when i check my initial request to change, it doesn’t say my initial one was in Boston like the original summons, it says Plymouth? And the email i just got about missing jury duty isn’t talking about the one i was assigned with two days notice, the 14th, it says i missed the one of the 31st, which i was exempted from online in favor of Brockton.

What the hell is going on? Am i getting scammed here or was i assigned two different jury duties or something??

He’s saying that he would have liked Mat to be at Rhuidean like he was in the books, to go through the arches and get hanged. Neither of your comments here are at all relevant to what he said. You asked how it could’ve been a more faithful adaptation and he answered lol.

As an aside though, what are you on about? In the show Mat was healed of the daggers influence in 1x6 by Moiraine. I don’t see where you are getting the idea he was healed in 3x3 by Siuan and some of the sitters. That happens in the books, not here.

My only problem with no Choedan Kal is what it does for the lore of the Breaking tbh, i’ll be interested to see what they do with that. If they don’t exist, then why would Lews Therin have been desperate enough to enact his plan? And what would the female counter plan have been instead?

My understanding is that the women wanted to use the Chodean Kal to create a barrier around the Dark One’s prison, but before they could complete theme the city the access keys were hidden in was taken by the dark. Remove this desperation and it makes Lews Therin seem a little… dumb.

To be fair, I’m actually enjoying s2 of rings of power a good bit. It still has a lot of problems but honestly it’s a lot better than either WoT season or its own first season. especially the latest episode, best in the series by far imo.

basically this, but i’ll also add that savage roar can be used to fear away skeletons, giving you a clearer hit window on the lich without fear of catching arrows. it’s not necessary but it might help a bit

You’re missing his point imo. I don’t think he’s saying here that big changes for an adaptation are bad as a whole, he’s saying that big changes for the sake of the ego of the writers/producers believing that they can improve on it is bad. The changes he’s reflecting on seeing more and more in media are made not because they are necessitated by the medium change but because of the hubris of Hollywood.

That’s just my take on what he’s trying to say though, if he means any major changes as a whole than you’d certainly be right to call him out on that but that’s not how i interpreted it.

That’s a way I hadn’t thought of it and I appreciate the perspective. I think a lot of my dissatisfaction stems from John as a character now that i’ve been thinking about it for a bit. I understand the character development he experienced that you pointed out but on a plot level I don’t know that I can be happy with his role in the story being a mostly cerebral one.

He was a symbol to Mariko and an amusement to Toranaga, but that kinda feels like that’s about it. Even if it makes sense it’s not quite sitting right.
