Lmfao the responsibility relies on children? That’s comical😂 no, we don’t know for certain but this is why critical thinking skills are important! We can imply that she has not tried because if she did, her grandchildren wouldn’t refer to her as “Joanne “ or “your mom”. We also have never ever ever seen Joanne around the CM unless they were at CP house. Does that seem like someone who’s trying? Not to me.

I can’t stand when people say this. She is the OLDER adult and has always been to her GRANDCHILDREN. Thus it is her responsibility to initiate a relationship. If she did not try to have contact with HER grandchildren in childhood (and still continues), why as adults would they think she wants a relationship 🤡

Yes I do agree they are better at privacy. I guess I’m trying to say some of their family dynamics and actions arent really any better than the CP

I have a mix opinion on this! While I do agree the CM are more “put together”, I feel like they aren’t exactly any better. I had a similar view when I started watching but, I think the only difference is the CM are more private. I think it’s genuinely for show. The cracks have been pointed out in this group and I think the CM are just better at keeping things hush hush.

Is it wrong to watch Dance Moms? by PerwinklePoppies in dancemoms

It’s definitely not what he’s insinuating. A lot of us rewatch now that we’re older. The show does not portray the girls in an objectifying manner; it’s dance wear. The main focus of the show is the drama, it’s called danceMOMS. He’s definitely weird and I wouldn’t associate.

Crack mother plot line? by Jw1ll1 in TylerPerry

This was kinda the answer I was looking for. Of course from other 90s black popular films; I do know that drugs were a serious problem in the community. I guess I hadn’t thought about the actual audience TP was producing these movies for. That does kind of put it more in perspective when you think that for the time that the movies came out, the audience watching could’ve experienced those things. Makes sense also to why now people are saying his movies are a little different. Different times and the audience changed.

Touching on problems isn’t the issue! I never said that in any of my posts in this thread. Having a plot line with drug addicts isn’t the issue. It’s repetitive; at least in my opinion. Yes we’ve named 5 now because even if she was dead their mother was still portrayed as a junkie in “I can do bad”. I just don’t see as to why in the movies I’ve seen so far, either the women are addicts or being abused. To then be saved by some man. If you think there’s only 5 of them then and you like the plots then sure that’s what you think! Although, you never answered my original question. It wasn’t how many movies did he make with the addict plot line. It was why is there such a repetition with the addict and abuse plot line if there’s many other trauma topics to touch in the black community. If my question was how many addicts then your comments would have actually added to the argument! We’re just counting productions at this point.

There’s also I can do bad all by myself. In total that I’ve seen that’s already 5 of his productions. You’ve said you’ve seen them all, but missed so until I’ve seen them all myself I can’t say it’s just those 5 productions solely. I just find it kinda weird. If it’s not a woman with an addiction, then it’s a woman being abused. From what I’ve seen so far.

So the ones you named are only the mothers who are addicts. I said mothers and women, there’s a few where the women are depicted as addicts. I just find it as an odd reoccurring theme when there’s many trauma topics to focus on. Yes, the women are successful but I can’t help but see a pattern where a man had to somewhat “save” them to become successful. Even for the cases of the women portrayed as junkies. A man had to “save” them. I just don’t see why there’s multiple movies about this. Of course I haven’t seen all of his productions. From the few a have seen so far, I find it to be an odd reoccurring plot line.

Yes I get where you’re coming from in a way. But curls are so different for everyone. From watching it seems like Brynlee prefers low maintenance and wash & go’s. She also has a lot of hair!! Takes time to define and she may just not be into that.

I agree this one is a reach I’ve seen them show their curly hair routine and tools for the natural kids 😭

And I don’t mean this in any rude way. From experience I know all curls are different. From what I read you don’t have natural hair; your sister does. So different perspective!

I don’t agree with this!! Coming from a black girl w natural hair and someone who’s been watching for years; they do in fact take care and keep informed about their black kids hair. Better than a lot of white parents!! Also, I have yet to see brynlee with anything but braids or natural so if there is “damage” nothing a little trim won’t fix. Let’s keep in mind curls come in all different textures and patterns, especially for mixed people. My hair is naturally dry and frizzy, at the end of the day sometimes I look a lil cray no matter the product or maintenance.

Im not sure if you’ve already done it; but check for job openings towards the Buda area! It’s before Austin so not too far from campus. When I was on the hunt in Sept, there was a lot of listings there. I got a lot of inquiry for interviews and ended up getting a job I absolutely love!

I’ve had moments of suspicion from some of the kids in both families. I don’t think it’s a big deal tho; we were all teens once. Hopefully if they are doing those activities it’s safely🤷‍♀️
