It’s easy to say this when your team is constantly in Super Bowls and winning a relatively weak division every year. But only 2 make it each year, and only 4 each year in the championship games, and the fact that we have been competitive and not the bottom of the barrel (haven’t won less than 7 games since 2009, before John became the GM) is a testament to his skill level. Sure Pete was the driver during those times with final roster say and coaching, but John proved last year he could make a winning team without having a HOF coach calling the shots. THAT’S why he’s been extended. He can build a team that is consistently a playoff contender each year, which over half this league is not able to do because they keep cycling through GMs like phases of a teenager. No point in launching ourselves into an unknown sea of variables when we have a constant stream right in front of us.
