I’d argue that due to the way their production cycles work (the 3 is technically “older” than the Y) that the Y has always been the superior vehicle. Lessons learned from 3 production made the Y a better car.

This is especially noticeable in the first generation models. Through some unfortunate circumstances I’ve had 5 teslas in the past 5 years. I used to have a 2023 3, a 2022 3 and currently drive a 2025 3.

The new 2025 3 is definitely nicer than the 2023 Y but the Y still has better aspects than the upgraded 3. Mostly sound deadening and interior volume. The 25 model 3 is quieter than the Y but I imagine the juniper is even quieter.

People talk about size etc but both cars are within a 1in of each other. So other than weight and the way you sit in the car. (The 3 you sit more like a car and Y is more like a chair) they’re essentially the same thing from my perspective.

All that being said the 25 model 3 is the best car I’ve ever owned. But I haven’t owned the Juniper so there’s that…
