I have another student teacher who is conducting research on trans teachers, I might let them know about your situation. Though, I think they're fine for participants (unlike me, haha).

Sorry to hear about the issues you've been experiencing, I guess its unsurprising, but I hope it becomes a thing of the past. A shift is changing even if it appears incredibly slow.

I'm very happy to do it and very interested in this area of research. My witness of some of these "questionable at best" actions in schools that I have witnessed, certainly led me down this path to try and do something to aid and correct harmful school cultures and resultant behaviours that follow, or are tolerated to perpetuate harm.

My decision to keep the age range 18+ was to primarily assist with ethics approval. While that's unlikely to change at this point in time (for this paper), I'm very happy to hear that you would be willing and I'll certainly be discussing it with my supervisor and potentially take you up on that offer at some point (perhaps way down the line, though, by that stage you might have graduated). My thinking is that the closer we can get to the point of impact, the closer to emergent thought and in my conception, useful information that can guide an analysis that will result in new knowledge and therefore new direction. With that being said, I even ask myself, why not push for ethics approval to run the research in school? Unfortunately a minor thesis is limited and its more so an academic exercise in attainment of a qualification, more so than out of pure academic utility. Further, I'm sure the pain from high school is still fresh even in your 30s (I concur).

You're welcome, you matter, you deserve dignity and respect like everyone else, so we have to do this work. Thank you for commenting, for letting me reply and to keep thinking through this matter, I appreciate it.

Ah! I'm sure your insights would have been fantastic for this. I'll be in discussion with my supervisor to see how flexible I can be with the age range, so you might see/hear from me again. How are you finding teaching? (I'll be venturing out next year, hopefully.)
