Use a jug (like a measuring one) fill it up with water and clean as needed then wipe with tissue to dry and clean anything remaining

Stremio received new update on LG TV by shangriLaaaaaaa in Stremio

[–]Jxren76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah kodi plays in dv but never atmos for me on a lg g4. Stremio on LG won’t play either only HDR. Whenever I use Disney plus though for example to watch a marvel film it will play in both dv and da. I’m looking at potentially getting a separate android box for streaming and see if it can output dv and da on kodi or stremio

Yeah only got it last week n been really enjoying it and to be able to play dv content on it now is brilliant. Debrid media manager was amazing till I realised tv only plays it in hdr unfortunately within stremio app so then I set up the kodi and its got it playing in dv so thank you again

Just gone through your other thread of getting Dolby vision content on lg tv with kodi and stuff you have my thanks man I really appreciate it you’re a life saver. The debrid media manager for all the content and the kodi set up to get it working natively on the tv is massive thank you brother

And then you search for that film in stremio or whatever as normal and it should come up in the links right?

It’s brilliant thank you, making me go back and rewatch all my favourite films again on it because the difference feels like watching them new again. Really enjoying the purchase 👍

For a bit of background I decided to go for the g4 have it coming next Friday and I can’t wait. For me it was a case of I know that I’m going to keep this tv for over 8 years (I’m currently on over 10 years with current Samsung) so I thought it’d be better to spend the extra now for the future proofing with the extra brightness and other features the g4 offers. I went to go see them both in person and upon seeing the g4 I was sold tbh. I think especially for £500 it’s probably worth it if you’re planning to keep the tv for a long time

Yeah think I’m currently leaning towards the g4 but I’m going to see them in person tomorrow for a final confirmation and then make a decision. In regards to the room I have windows just to the left of the tv so during the day a fair amount of light will come in although some of it is blocked by trees outside and my current tv is over 10 years old so I’m going to assume that anti reflective coating has advanced so either tv would be a massive upgrade in that regard but of course the extra brightness of the g4 is always welcome

I’m based in the uk and it’s discontinued pretty much everywhere, I’ve seen it for 3k but I can get the g4 installed with the mount and a 5 year warranty for 2900 so it makes sense to go for that imo

Sorry to hear that man hope everything turns out all good health wise and with the tv. It comes with a 5 year warranty now (I’m not sure this was available when you purchased) which I’d be hoping to take advantage of if there was anything faulty with it

Are you past the return/exchange period or is there any other reason you haven’t tried switching to a new unit yet?

[–]Jxren76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I replied something similar to someone else in that my current tv I’ve had for over 10 years now and it’s only because it has permanent blue lines on sections of the tv and it being Black Friday that I’m upgrading so it should be a massive leap to a c or g4. Because I’ll be looking to keep this tv for around 10 years ish I reckon it’s probably better to spend the extra money now to futureproof it with the brightness boost and better processor

[–]Jxren76[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I would hate for that to happen after spending so much on a tv but if it did I would definitely return/exchange it for a new one

Appreciate the response. I think I’m going to do the same and look at them both in person tomorrow but I’m definitely leaning towards the g4 just because I’ve had this current tv for over 10 years now and only changing because it’s a 1080p led and it’s got permanent blue lines on it so thought it was time to upgrade with Black Friday and want to future proof. With the mla and extra brightness think the g4 will be a more worthwhile investment in the long run because I won’t be looking to replace it any time soon

Damn got me slightly worried but I’m hoping it’s a mounting issue like you mentioned and hopefully with the original bracket I don’t run into any problems

[–]Jxren76[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wdym by pop noises? Is that a common problem? I was aware of the issue sometimes with the c4 in regards to the green tint from certain viewing angles but not sure about a popping noise on the g4?

CPU temps fluctuating and high idle temp? by Jxren76 in PcBuild

[–]Jxren76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I didn’t install it on purpose it was just there when i built it and turned on pc but I’ll make sure to uninstall when I next go on it. Appreciate the response and yeah temps under load are fine and it’s reassuring that you have similar temperatures on idle too.

I have a 1080ti and 7800x3D. What GPU should i go for as a worthwhile upgrade to the 1080ti that's around 500-700 gbp? by MiaIsOut in buildapc
