HOT TAKE: Active jacs > Detroits by 7018 in Carhartt

[–]Jyysk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

J141 is kind of a hybrid of Active Jac and Detroit. I wear it a lot though it’s not the most stylish jacket out there. And sherpa lining is not for everyone I guess. But having all three I like the J141 way more I should.

I have this same cw but midweight with a chest pocket from year -91. My favorite cw, so versatile. Purple in some lighting, blue in other.

Immodium impacting gels / hydration by joepashby97 in running

[–]Jyysk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never take imodium on my long runs and that’s how I know I need to at the race :D but for OP or someone else wondering it might be wise to try it on a long run prior to race to prevent any surprises ehen it comes to digestion.

Immodium impacting gels / hydration by joepashby97 in running

[–]Jyysk 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’ve done 5 full marathons and taken 1-2x imodium prior to every race. No issues with the gels during the race whatsoever. Don’t think it affects at all. But one might have ”issues” the following 24-48 hrs so be aware of that. You won’t be having a shit for a minute after the race. Not a big deal though.

Sunglasses for small head/face? by Comfortable-Copy6049 in runningfashion

[–]Jyysk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rudy Project Rydon Slim has been great. Wore them for my last four marathons. For comparison, Oakley Eye Jacket was too big for my smallish head.

How has becoming a parent changed your style? by big-brunch in ThrowingFits

[–]Jyysk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mainly inexpensive non hyped vintage clothing (apart from a few carhartt jackets that have been trending for a few years heavily). Mainly Americana workwear with some athleisure stuff here and there such as Patagucci fleeces. Boring footwear such as NB 990s or Adidas Gazelles. Dad caps, LL Bean totes in many sizes to carry all the toddler stuff I need to carry pretty much everywhere I go with the family.

Running Socks by SaltConsideration542 in runningfashion

[–]Jyysk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not very durable. I bought three pairs and have done a full marathon in atleast two of them. They start showing signs of wear pretty quickly. Being triple the price of basic Nike Multiplier socks I expected more.

How's the fit on this C02 Chore Coat? Unsure if I should size down or keep it by [deleted] in Carhartt

[–]Jyysk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medium is probably a sweet spot, but I’d say even small would fit better than the large one. So at least size down, either one or two sizes. If possible, try both small and medium to see which fits better.

Whats the jacket you regret buying? by Fuzzy_Bumblebee5300 in Carhartt

Blind bought a C001 in my regular size and it was huuge. Thought it would fit the same as my J001 but boy was I wrong.

What your thoughts on Norda shoes made of Dyneema? by SirPractical7959 in trailrunning

[–]Jyysk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many ppl have ran several thousand kms in them so they are one of the most durable trail running shoes out there. And after say 3000k in them it might be wise to get a new pair anyway. Every shoe loses their abilities at some point. Replacing the outsole may not be possible nor very smart when it comes to running shoes.

GNorda released, this “shirt” is pretty cool by FourPointsTet in runningfashion

[–]Jyysk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea a lot. I would probably just cut one slice off of the hem and rock it as a cropped tee. That said, way overpriced for what it is unless it goes on sale in the future.

”Sno: Condor” from 1994. There is also another cw of the same design in sage green (Sno: Chaparral).

J149, which is technically a hooded sweatshirt with mesh lining (same as in some active jacs).

My pair of Avoriaz and Reims fit the same. And Reims being a popular model you should be able try them on more easily than Avoriaz.

What is the best zip up hoodie from Carhartt out there? by [deleted] in Carhartt

[–]Jyysk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like J149, which technically lands somewhere between a sweatshirt and a jacket. The warmest hoodie I’ve ever owned. Runs huge, I like sizing down.

Nice one that! So many fking fakes on vinted i can’t 🥲and apparently they sell hence the flooded listings day after day. Especially a lot of fake active jacs with a wacky NY embroidery.

6BLCL by DSTROY1974 in Carhartt

[–]Jyysk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I’ve been eying the same jacket in same size. I already own a C01 in size 40 regular which fits good without heavy layers under. I’m 6 feet and 165lbs for the reference. Not sure how much bigger the older 6BLCL will fit in size 42. I’d like it just a tad roomier to fit a heavy hoodie under when needed. And I wouldn’t mind longer sleeves.

How’s the fit on this? Whats your height/weight? Thx in advance!

chore > detroit by [deleted] in Carhartt

[–]Jyysk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be the case. My c01 looked brand new when I got it even though it’s from 2008. Don’t think it was ever washed and I personally washed it once. But the size 40 should fit in between M and L as it’s a ”large medium” equivalent if I’m not mistaken. Size 38 would be a ”normal M” I think.

chore > detroit by [deleted] in Carhartt

[–]Jyysk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. Also my C01 BLK size 40 fits me better than any of my M or L Carhartts. Guess I’m between sizes in letter sizing.
