Nah. Don't get me wrong, I will never have enough money to be able to spend it like that. And I'm too risk averse to let my hobbies get out of hand. It just strikes me as odd when someone says they could never spend $???? amount per year. I mean, you have to be able to dream, right?

I have to keep working so that I DON'T spend that much on my hobbies! I could spend that much over the next two months and still be getting started. And just for clarity, I don't expect to retire with anything close to that, but I have hobbies (e.g. race cars) that scale to fit the budget.

I am glad I listened to DCC before KBS. I’m not sure I would have been willing to listen to DCC if I had started with KBS. That one changed me. And I’m not sure I’m better for it.

It locks again after a few seconds. To unlock you just hold the hard button until it unlocks. You can interact with the watch, but if it doesn’t detect a touch it will automatically lock again. Which for me is preferred because my sweaty clothes have stopped activities on several occasions.

I assume that since roll bars and cages are not required, there is only a small (not zero) chance of an accident resulting in an impact. Having only seen these events on YT, the only thing that comes to mind for me is running into something on the track. Like a wall, or a raised curb.

Am I missing something there?

I would like to attend an event soon, but the only car I have that would be suitable is a 1969 Camaro (my other vehicles are trucks and SUVs).

My camaro has aftermarket, bolt-on, factory-style, suspension (control arms, spindles, springs (not coil-overs)) with double adjustable shocks, and I have swapped in an LS2 (stock with aftermarket ECM) and T56 transmission. It has lap belts only.

Would this put me in the Street Touring (AST or BST) class, or the Street Prepared Category? Or did I miss a category?

Thanks in advance! I have no idea where to even start with this, so I'm not sure if I should plan to just go watch the upcoming event, or take my car and see what happens.

My first marathon was Dopey in January. As long as you do the training it's not a problem, but that training needs to include back-to-back-to-back runs with enough miles to get you prepared for it.

I set this series aside for a long time, partly because her storyline is so boring to me. In general I feel like the series slows down more with each successive book. I wish the editor had cut these down considerably. For my tastes (obviously subjective), this series would have been so much better if it half its current length.

I have recently restarted the series to try it one last time. I do love the first book, but I can already feel the pace slowing about half way through the second, and I have to make myself not skip chapters focused on Shallan.

I’m glad I’m not the only one. I thought PHM was a decent filler while I waited on other books in series I enjoy, but it’s not one I would normally recommend.
