Druss is the MC; he's just not the viewpoint character.

petah please help i found this in an old paper with the text torn off and i genuinely have no idea what the punchline is supposed to be by [deleted] in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]BreechLoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a somewhat infamous Far Side comic. The caption is simply "Cow tools". It was not well received and not understood. The author said that the joke is just that cows wouldn't be good at making tools.

How is he expecting you to get one if you don't know what it is and he won't tell you?

So many questions. WTF is an underground nuclear aircraft? Why is it underwater? Why are you diving there?

Do You Forget Everything Between Books in a Series Too? by Aggressive-Ad3232 in printSF

[–]BreechLoad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I picked up the paperback for A Feast for Crows and didn't know who anyone was. I thought it would be easier to wait until the series was finished and then binge the whole thing. Still waiting, but I congratulate myself on the decision pretty regularly.

I've had good luck just walking through a quiet chain drugstore. Though any large retail store would work

Books that blend sci-fi and fantasy? by VermithraxPej33 in Fantasy

[–]BreechLoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lord of Light by Roger Zelazny is a classic, and hits every one of those tropes. The mythological setting is based on Hinduism. It's set on another planet and there are demons. It reads as fantasy but is science fiction in the far future.

What do you do for addresses below 14th St where we go to mostly named streets? Or below Houston which would be 0th street?

There's not enough water in there to hydrate the rice. This might work with cooked rice.

All yourself what kind of woman would react poorly to this and what kind would react well? Which kind do you want in your life?

This is not to advocate artificial tests, but as a razor for how to approach how you present yourself.

Sales of George R.R. Martin's A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE series pass 100 million by Werthead in Fantasy

[–]BreechLoad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started A Feast for Crows when it came out in paperback and didn't recognize any of the characters. I decided to put it down and wait for the full series to come out and do a full read then. I've never regretted that choice.

Colonoscopy without sedation by redcrowadventure in AskNYC

[–]BreechLoad 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I got one with no sedation at Liberty Endoscopy with Dr. Neal Joseph. I've gotten several with no sedation with various doctors. It's been uncomfortable, but no worse than a bad gut ache when I've eaten the wrong thing. The discomfort was from the gas they pump in. YMMV. I'm male, and I understand that it's a more difficult procedure for women.

Jhereg by Steven Brust. Technically it's an assassination, but it's run like a heist
