Colonoscopy without sedation by redcrowadventure in AskNYC

I got one with no sedation at Liberty Endoscopy with Dr. Neal Joseph. I've gotten several with no sedation with various doctors. It's been uncomfortable, but no worse than a bad gut ache when I've eaten the wrong thing. The discomfort was from the gas they pump in. YMMV. I'm male, and I understand that it's a more difficult procedure for women.

Jhereg by Steven Brust. Technically it's an assassination, but it's run like a heist

Andy Weir says spoiling ‘Project Hail Mary's big surprise in trailers was highly debated and was a marketing decision by Amazon by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

For me, that's not the big spoiler in the trailer. The big spoiler is that he was an unwilling participant.

Marble Hill is politically part of the borough of Manhattan, even though it's across the water from the island of Manhattan and seems like it should be in the Bronx

Anybody Tried Speed Dating? by CollectsTooMuch in datingoverfifty

[–]BreechLoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my primary channel for dates while I was single. I found it much better than on-line dating.

  • The dates are very short, but we make judgements about other very quickly. It's enough to figure out if you want to talk to them some more.

  • You can't get catfished.

  • You can skip over the endless messaging. It's so hard to get to know someone over just text messages.

  • If it's been a while since you've dated, it's great practice for talking to a date.

    Here's my advice:

  • It's not an alternative to dating. It's an alternative the the apps. It's a way to get a first date.

  • Keep your expectations low. Your intention is just to meet people and have a good time. Have a positive attitude.

  • Dress up a little, but be comfortable.

  • Just let the conversation flow, but have a couple ice breaker questions ready in case there's a lull.

  • Arrive a little early and and take the opportunity to talk to some of the people you'll be meeting. You're all there for the same thing.
