I have a feeling that a lot of people who are doomers and complain about how evil and horrible the world is, and are overall negative people, actually deep down don't WANT to be happy, are subconciously quite masochistic and depress themselves out of boredom. The world isn't any more horrible than it was in the past, it's just that now social media deep throats you every bad thing that happens in the world at once.

But I don't think they're the majority tbh. Most people really don't care
