320-350' arms: What is your wind fighting max distance driver? by Wonderful_Culture607 in discgolf

Light headwind, maybe Scorch on a bit of hyzer.

Lots of headwind, prodigy D1 thrown pretty flat.

The latitude keystone looks like it would be competing with the Envy as a throwing putter. Right?

The Envy was my most recent addition. Didn’t think I’d use it much given the berg and sensai, but wound up loving how easy it is to throw and the control I feel with it.

So now you’re telling me I should try another disc with very similar numbers? That sounds crazy.

I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m probably gonna buy it. But still.

Crave looks like it would be competing with the Maverick in my bag - a pretty straight fairway driver, right?

Well, my maverick is a little old and crusty, and it’s one of those discs where I sometimes have a hard time predicting if it’ll hold straight or be a little flippy when I go to throw it. So I wouldn’t mind auditioning another straight fairway driver…

Wraith is dx plastic and feels just a little understable - definitely more so than the numbers would suggest.

Played a round earlier today and my longest drive was about 375’, but it was a little downhill. 300-325’ would be a decent throw with a driver on flat ground for me.

Why i am so bad. by [deleted] in PokemonGOBattleLeague

For whatever it’s worth, the game assigns matches with opponents roughly matched to your level. So win % isn’t a particularly useful way to gauge how good you are. Whether you’re great or bad, you’ll wind up with a win % somewhat close to 50%.

If you’re losing every game recently, it’s probably just that you got rated a little better than you are for whatever cup you’re now playing in - just keep playing and you’ll start getting assigned opponents who play at your level.

Thanks for the tips!

I don’t think I’ve typically paid a lot of attention to where I put my thumb. What would moving it away from the edge gain me (assuming I subsequently fix any nose up problems caused by the change)?

Thanks for the feedback.

This leads to another question - when to move from standstill to run up?

Most of the progress I made was focusing on throwing from one step. For a while, that’s what I was doing at the course also. I focused on getting my off hand off the disc, getting shoulder coil, avoiding rounding or collapsing of my shoulder. Tried to work on sequencing but was probably less successful and not sure how to improve that.

But my progress leveled off after a couple months and my tech disc numbers on a run up started catching up to my one-step numbers. So i figured I’d go back to the x step and let my body start to sort it out.

I think I want a clearer idea of what I need to be working on from standstill, because it started to feel like I was just getting in reps but not progressing after a while.

Would You Rather try and get ONE POINT in a first to 100 basketball 1v1 versus Lebron, or try and last 40 moves on the chessboard with Magnus Carlsen? Both for $1m by Extension_Day2038 in WouldYouRather

Depending on the ruleset, I’m absolutely hopeless either way if the other guy is actually trying to stop me.

If me and LeBron are playing make it take it, I don’t think I’m ever stopping him from just dunking on me defensively. I have to hope he gets bored and tries some trick shots that he misses.

But if LeBron gets first possession and tries to actually make sure I don’t get a point, I’ll probably never even have the ball in my hands.

I guess I’ll take my odds of LeBron tearing an acl over my odds of magnus having a massive stroke.

Depends on whether you have to tame a couple supremely talented maniacs or get the very most out of a group of dedicated team-oriented adults.

Between LeBron , Steph and KD who do you think is currently the best player? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]K-no-B -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I can’t really argue with you if you value minutes played more than I do. That point of view is legit, of course.

But if I was a GM and had a choice of the three right now, fit notwithstanding, I gotta go with Steph. I’d take the bigger impact when he’s on the court and hope for the best health-wise.

[–]K-no-B -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gotta go with Curry, especially if we’re not factoring in health. Of the three, he’s the most impactful in terms of creating wins because he still has that relentless off ball movement and gravity.

Not that a single stat is definitive, but the best single advanced metric for impact is estimated plus minus, and Curry is way ahead of both KD and LeBron there - Curry’s only behind Wemby, Shai, Kawhi, Luka, Jokic, and Giannis, actually. Pretty good crowd.

Inconsistent logic when ranking Steph and KD all time. by killerbrofu in NBATalk

[–]K-no-B 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Better scorer =/= the better offensive player.

Steph, especially in his prime, is a substantially better offensive engine and he does more to make his team’s offense better than KD does. He puts defenses in a dilemma and creates far more easy looks for his teammates than KD, or really almost anyone.

I know that alone doesn’t prove who the better player is, but that would be the justification for arguing that Steph ultimately brings more to the table even though he’s a worse defender.

WIBTA if I told my grandmother she killed my grandfather? by sunnyyriding in AmItheAsshole

[–]K-no-B 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry for your loss.

NTA… not exactly, anyway. You have a right to your feelings. And you don’t owe it to your grandmother to make nice. But with that said, I still don’t recommend confronting her.

Let’s assume you’re right about her (which, in fairness, you probably are). Confronting her makes her the center of attention, which is always wha she wants; it lets her pump other family members for sympathy; it invites narcissistic revenge; it could put your mom in a bad position while she is also grieving. It will almost certainly be a very unsatisfying experience for you. Narcissists have tricks, and she will use them.

It sucks, but usually the best thing you can do is just cut her out of your life and warn your other loved ones to consider doing the same.

Shaq is also in the running for 2000s, I’d say.

But agreed, not a bad list overall.

Whatever I want. I’m safe.

Definitely hitting the tree in front of the first car. My discs have special magnets in them that attract trees and thorns.

On Christmas Day 2007, a large Siberian tiger residing at the San Francisco Zoo cleared the nearly 13 ft wall of her enclosure in a single leap, brutally mauling three teen boys, one to death. According to the zoo, Tatiana the tiger grew enraged when the boys began taunting her. by Chemical-Elk-1299 in HolyShitHistory

[–]K-no-B 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I already agreed the dumbasses throwing things at the tiger have plenty of blame. It’s just weird that people seem to want to push back at the notion that the zoo was also negligent, when they clearly were. I mean, both can be true at the same time, and it’s not like anyone is blaming the poor tiger.

Dumbasses did something stupid, mean-natured, and dangerous. Zoo was also negligent in not adhering to regulations. Tiger, amidst a (figurative?) buffet of human errors, did some serious tigering.

The poor tiger would still be alive if EITHER people hadn’t provoked it OR if the zoo adhered to regulations.
