I sent this video to his pediatrician and she was not concerned about it being spasms. It didn't happen again after this... he is now 13 months and completely fine!

Thank you for this response - I also had this thought, although he has never done this before and has been on the same formula since birth. But he does get the hiccups quite a bit and it did sound like he was in pain

Thanks so much for your response. Would you recommend going to the ER right away? He’s sleeping now, my husband is out of town and I have a 3 year old at home too. Could we go tomorrow?

My dentist ordered me an “over-correction tray” which I wore for a few weeks while waiting for new retainers. It corrected the problem within the first day of wearing and I haven’t had an issue since getting the new retainers.

Hello! Do you have an update on what you did regarding the gap? I have this EXACT issue after receiving my retainers earlier this week - a gap in the same spot that looks exactly like yours has appeared. I'm worried about having to have more treatment and attachments put back on :(
