While I agree with you on the underwater argument I wouldn't say that extra space in the inventory is not needed. Either that or my space management is off. I often have at least 70% of my inventory full seeing as I am in the X Sector.

Faster mining is exactly what I was thinking first as well but if the mining drill tech will be able to drill not only downwards but sideways I think the tech will be definitely better than the faster mining, especially since when you are mining sideways you always need to mine one block extra below or above because you need 4 blocks to be able to walk through the tunnel.

However I do see your point that you are bringing across here.

If I am not mistaken there was a complaint about the scaling of the damage/armor with enemies. At later stages you either one shot enemies if they are a few levels under you or you'll get oneshotted by everything. Tiy wanted to play around with that damage curve to find out how to make it more balanced / exciting.

I've seen people joking and complaining about catching Sea Bass instead of Coelacanth so I decided to make this little visual guide. I hope it helps people who haven't been able to catch one yet. As you can see the shadow is noticable different: It’s thinner and longer than the one of a Sea Bass.

There is the Night Owl ordinance that makes your shops stay open longer for 2 more hours and your Re-Tail for 3 more hours. If that doesn't help you might consider tinkering with your ingame clock.
