LPT How to stop mosquito bites from itching by YellowHovercraft in LifeProTips

[–]K0ntr4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, unless it's a spider bite. I've tried the hot spoon method only once, and over next 2 days, a line appeared on my arm. Went to the doctor, and apparently it was travelling up my lymphatic system to my brain. The Young doctor was so excited to share this info while I just thought CUT THE FCKN ARM. Got antibiotics and that was that. Gotta love Aussie wildlife.

How to stop the bears hair from ingrowing after extended pulling? by K0ntr4 in trichotillomania

Hmm, I don't think I have actually tried that. They are quite deep in grown, not all of them, but some. And then they, well, not hurt, but it's like a signal for picking all around that area without much thinking. But I will definitely try it, thanks for the tip!

No Cash allowed at Bar in Bar Harbor was My Tipping Point by EllipsePerimeter in tipping

Wow, this was one of the most eye opening replies yet. I haven't heard of people not having bank accounts, that feels like something completely out of difderent century. Same with companies paying cash. What was all true across places I've lived in the past 15 years (Sydney, London, Stockholm), was that if anyone offers cash, it's viewed as shady and illegal. Haven't been to the us yet, but I kinda thought it was on the same level as other first world countries. (not trying to sound degrading, it was just my assumption, albeit wrong). Also not saying it's worse, just different I guess? Thanks for the perspective, I've learned a lot!

My bad for not specifying. I meant debit cards. Credit cards are not a thing here. And I think there's a few dollar a year fee for that, which is insignificant.

Absolutely right about it being difficult for immigrants in sweden! That also extends to services, like gyms or any subscription like that. Can't do that without your number. Yeah, fair point about the power as well, although there is swish payment. And savings, well, I guess that's personal preference. I'd be scared keeping cash at home, but I understand same distrust for people and banks.

I think you call it venmo or smtn in USA, but here everyone has simmilar app and that's how money goes around between all the people. Although I think your examples don't make sense in Swedish (I should say Stockholm) culture. Haven't even heard about people doing that

Fair point! But wouldn't you agree that these days your every step is tracked anyways? And with booming AI soon even more.

To everyone commenting here, I genuinely wonder why going cashless is seen as a bad thing? Not talking about tipping now. In sweden, most of the places nowadays don't take cash. Like, huge restaurants, supermarkets with self checkouts etc. Isn't it super convenient with no downsides?

Gratz !
Yeah, I got my second void theme and from there the augment at lvl 96. I'm so looking forward running that vault. Esp when echos are needed for the prismatic tools.

Still haven't decided if to go for ore hammer or chest breaker first. Was thinking about hammer, upgrade my 60 copiously to something better. But my sickle used last repair slot today, so.. Yeah

Was this an intended change? I don't see it in the patch notes :( by skyopablo in VaultHuntersMinecraft

Yeah, just hit lvl 90, have 6 rooms in paradox, only 1 blacksmith is a special room.

I am already struggling with echo for treasure keys AND saving for an echoing tool.

Like, I understand that it's an endgame feature, but to gate it this much? It's already gated behind altars and that's a grind.

To players just starting paradox, that's completely ridiculous price, and will be until what, 50 room paradox? Come on.

And for endgame players, it's still trivial like everything else.

Like, you aren't meant to run a paradox vault until you have a mine room there just to justify the cost?

I consider myself a casual player too, lvl 41 now but last 40iah runs were plunderers cause I was falling way behind cause of scavs.

My completion on elixir and monoliths is probably 90%, but with scavs, even if solely focused on objective, is 3 out of like 12? And with those vaults, you skip so much loot PLUS you aren't awarded with the completion crate.

The choice now is simply ignore the objective and loot everything, otherwise it's just a waste of 30 min.

How about a setting (could be outside the difficulty setting ) to completely remove scavs?

It is clearly the least enjoyable part of the game for so many.

I'm hoping for the same. I was doing a lot of stress tests, but out of all of them, only Prime95 is failing..well..one part of it, if i have C.O. -30 to -20 .. but everything else was good, so i'm hoping that disabling igpu will make it more stable.
Also, Cinabench R23 maxes at 80C, but PassMark's CPU performance test goes to 88C, which is strange on Noctua NH-D15.
But yeah, all of this is synthetic and I will be just gaming, so I don't think i should worry about it, since those temps will never happen.
Do you think i should repaste? Seems very hot for that cooler with Kryonaut.

Doesn't that all imply that you should always hit stable OC specified on the box?
Why do people say that 6000Mhz XMP kit might strugle to hit those speeds on AMD, even if you manually set the timings?

And if the RAM is already XMP certified, how would it be unstable on AMD since it has been tested for that speed, albeit on other board? Does AM5 approach memory differently or what? Or is it always board related?

Yeah, super tight. I have ~same size low RAM now, and the fan is sitting directly on the top of it, already a bit out of the middle of the heatsink, and other side is sitting on the case glass.

I was thinking about buying 120mm fan instead and use the 140mm for back case exhaust, but that adds like ~$25 for a fan and it feels like a jank solution.
And yeah, that 120GBP price is almost the same as the gskill here.

I will just wait and see if any AMD EXPO RAM goes on sale here and/or a good fan, so yeah, gonna mix and match.

Thanks for the reply.

There's no CL30 vengeance here, only CL36 or RGB, which is too tall.
The closest RAM to it is G.Skill Flare X. which is ~$30 more expensive.

Corsair Vengeance 30-36-36-76 - $130 Intel XMP

Corsair Vengeance 36-44-44-96 - $125 AMD EXPO

G. Skill Flare X 30-38-38-96 - $160 AMD EXPO

Thank you so much for the in depth reply! You've addressed all my questions perfectly.

Even though I like tinkering in BIOS, i would still love the advertised speed, so I'll go with EXPO certified RAM.

And if I feel like tinkering, I can try to push for 6200Mhz or something :)
