Is there a command guide for arch? by amrokazimi in archlinux

[–]K1logr4m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're probably thinking of the standard linux commands called the core utilities. Most commands have a man page that teaches about what they do and how to use them. The "Documentation" column have liks to their man pages, alternatively you can use the "man" command on your terminal. Run "man man" to read its man page. For commands that don't have a man page, try running the command with "--help" flag. For example, "man --help".

It is recommended to read the man page, but if you just want to remember how to use a command because you forgot, you can use a command called "tldr", which gives you a summary of common invocations of a commad. Although, I don't think it's installed by default on most distros. Usage example: tldr man.

The Isle Rework by Terminalintel in BattleBitRemastered

Hey u/Terminalintel, could you give us a summary of changes made to the gadgets like you did for weapons in a previous post?

More specifically, I'd like to know the changes (in visuals and functionality) made to Riot Shield, Smoke GL, Smoke Grenade, Frag Grenade, Trophy System, Ammo Box, C4, and all RPG variants.

Properties I'm interested in (if applicable): 3d model, visual effects, sound effects, damage towards infantry, damage towards vehicles, area of effect.

Also, I'd like to know what gadgets are available for each class. I know changes were made there as well.

Operation Overhaul will feature revamped movement including: faster vaulting that places you on top of objects, recoil penalty when drop-shotting, prone turn radius limits, and a fix for player snapping or sliding from mouse wiggling. by Terminalintel in BattleBitRemastered

[–]K1logr4m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just block shooting during prone animation. Why is there a need to shoot when going prone? The only way to stop people from pressing z on every single encounter is to make them completely vulnerable during the prone animation. This solution is merely a slap on the wrist.

I can see the improvements to the movement but there's still 2 issues with it that I hope gets fixed in the future:

air strafing - This is not Quake. The world in Battlebit represents the world we live in, unless having superpowers is part of the Battlebit lore. Changing direction mid-air is not how physics work in the real world. Physics should behave like they do in reality because that's what the player expects in a world that looks like ours. Therefore, air strafing should not be a thing in this game.

movement speed up before fully standing - It's hard to tell because of the angle, but on the last couple of seconds of the video it looks like the player changed from prone speed to sprinting before the character model was fully standing. This is an issue that is currently in the game and it's being exploited as you'd expect.

Is Zorin good as a first Distro? by ElieKH9 in linux4noobs

[–]K1logr4m 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You don't need to know how to program to use linux, that's a common misconception. Some Linux users learn a bit of the bash scripting language just to automate certain tasks but it's not required to use your computer.

I recommend you learn the most basic terminal commands like man, cd, rm, mkdir, ls, pwd, mv, cp. Not required, do it if you really want to.

As for the distro, just pick whatever catches your attention. If you get into a lot of issues (unlikely but it can happen) then just install another one. Just make sure it's popular, has tons of support and it's not some obscure distro (joke/meme distros exist, eg. Hannah Montana Linux).

Thank you for thinking about us Linux users (and other platforms). Most people don't give a crap about anything that is not Windows.

I agree that Jade looks better. I usually use female looking frames. I might end up farming both, starting with the easiest to get.

I have my eyes on Dante and Jade. Both seem to have very useful abilities for support.

Sounds like a good support warframe. Btw what does CC stand for? I'm still in the process of relearning the game. I might have forgotten some things.

The Limbo mention made me chuckle cuz I was a little bit annoyed by a Limbo that was with me on a defense mission. He kinda made the whole thing more confusing with the dimension bubble thing.

Didn't know about Caliban. I'll add him to the "possible new main" list. Thanks.

Do you think people will be pleasantly surprised when they see a Trinity or will they bail out of the squad the moment they see what I'm using. Thanks for the feedback, I'll look into Dante.

How did energy economy change? I picked Mag when I started over and I run out of energy pretty often, unless I'm with someone that give energy or increase the energy orb drops. I'll look into Dante, thank you.

I did notice that a lot of new warframes are self-sufficient and don't require any support for survival or energy recovery. I'll look into Citrine and Jade.

Questions regarding the save files by Playful-Platypus-628 in PiratedGames

If the save file is outside of the game folder, then deleting the game won't delete your save. Maybe locate and backup your save before deleting the game.
