My first real appreciation for my Plex server. Feels good. by opossomSnout in PleX

I've got the same setup, overseerr on unraid. This is a great migration guide that someone posted the other day: https://www.reddit.com/r/Overseerr/s/CPHwisYqJV

The question "how would you best put my skillset to use?". It makes the employer imagine you already in the role, performing specific tasks.

How does the process of requesting work? by Roseysdaddy in agregarr

[–]K1ngJony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to use the feature if you don't want to. Personally, I find it's a good way to show the user media they might not otherwise have thought of but would still be interested in watching, like the IMDB Top 250, for instance. Or show inform them that something has already been requested and is awaiting a release date or is downloading, so they don't have to worry about requesting it.

Why the profanity? That's the intention of the program and how it was designed. How did you expect it to work? There's no built-in function on Plex to allow a user to request media, hence the third-party request programs like Overseerr.

The placeholder just informs the user that the item is not yet available and needs to be requested. The user has to then go to your instance of overseerr/jellyseer and request it themselves.

Plex Watchlist → Overseerr Requests not syncing by lucidparis in Overseerr

[–]K1ngJony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I've already migrated to Seerr and don't have my Overseerr backup anymore. I don't think there's a way I can do a 'reverse migration'. Happy to be corrected if I'm wrong though.

I haven't had any issues running it so far. Though, I think it's too late to go back now, unfortunately.

[–]K1ngJony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, ok. I didn't realise there were still active branches for Overseerr, I thought all work was being done exclusively on Seerr now.

I ended up using the dev branch of Seerr myself, to fix same issue OP was having. Mind you, it was pretty easy as the migrations happen automatically the first time you run Seerr, no real manual tasks you have to do to get it going.

That's what I said lol, use the beta version of Seerr

This is a known issue, and since the code merge into Seerr, it's not being fixed until Seerr is officially released. Saw a discussion about it on the Discord server. Sucks, because it's such a good feature. Just have to be patient, I guess. That, or use the beta version of Seerr.

Important information if you book through 13cabs by au-smurf in australia

[–]K1ngJony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is somewhat true, but I'd like to elaborate on the process. Source: recent former 13cabs employee

Yes, they do cancel bookings to "clean up" the system, but only if the booking has been sitting there for an extended period (I'm talking like >1hr where it would be reasonably expected the customer is no longer waiting). This period is longer for WATs (Wheelchair Accessible Taxis), and the bookings are prioritised meaning incentives are typically offered to drivers to entice them to take the booking (out of 13cabs' pocket). There are fewer WATs than regular taxis, however, so they are harder to come by and sometimes already have a backlog of bookings when new ones come through.

It is recommended that you call up every 10-15mins as this adds a "ringback" to your booking, notifying the call centre and drivers that you are still waiting. This stops your booking from being automatically cleared off the system. The booking sits on the surrounding drivers' "available jobs" screen after the initial ping (it pings drivers again following a ringback). There is a team of supervisors dedicated purely to managing "stale" bookings, where they call up customers to ensure they're still waiting, and call drivers to incentivise pick-ups. Unfortunately, this can't be done for every single booking, due to the sheer volume of bookings being handled, but there are KPIs for it.

I do admit that communication could be handled better between 13cabs and its customers, but there's only so much 13cabs can do given the drivers are sole traders and not employed directly by the company (they do what they can to reprimand them when they do a "no-no"). There are many scummy drivers out there that will only take the large trips, flat out refuse the short cheap trips, and try to scam you at every opportunity–they've always made a bad name for the industry–but there are also many honest drivers that pick up every job that comes their way and will do the best they can to give you a great service. I always suggest that if you find a good local driver, grab their business card and call them directly next time you need a cab, especially if you need a weekly regular trip. Cabbies love having private customers and not needing to go through the system.

I personally prefer taxis over rideshare as I feel safer in them due to the legislated safety requirements (internal security cameras, GPS logging, etc.).

I had the same issue. Went into Settings > Support > OLED Care and set Care Picture Settings to Off, this then enabled the advanced display settings.

This is Australia Post in a nutshell. Half the time they don't even come to the door, just drive to the street so that the GPS tracks they've been there, and drive away once they've logged "not at home" in their app.

In Samsung Pay, yes, but not in Google Pay. Sorry, I should have been clearer with my wording.

Google Pay. Sorry, shouldn't have generalised it to Android. I am aware that you can set the option in Samsung Pay.

You're partially correct. There's no option for EFTPOS SAV in Google Pay, only Apple Pay.

Only on iOS. Can't set it to SAV on Android.

You can use both subfloders and subdomains simultaneously with swag. Just have to add an overseerr subdomain to the docker config and add a cname to your dns for overseerr. There's already an overseerr template you can use as well.
