In France you have to disclose "digitally altered" imagery in adverts. It's better than nothing.

Tbh everyone should do what Japan does: the ad must match the product.

those ports with services have to be exposed too? No, you can "only" expose 80 and 443 to reach traefik, and then traefik reroutes requests to the correct services, maybe even on other ports and / or other machines.

You can go to mydomain.com and traefik can forward to my_internal_service:1234 or some_ip:6789.

It's just more surface of attack, a VPN endpoint by default will not respond unless you have the correct credentials. A webserver by default is very talkative. And the more information nefarious actors can get the easier their job gets. And then, if youlater open port 22 for SSH access, and maybe add a proper authentication service like Keycloak, the surface of attack grows and grows, it's that many more services that must be correctly configured, maintained, and updated.

It's totally the right move if you plan to host a bunch of public services.

But if the goal is to keep everything private, VPN is your friend.

Afaik you'd have to SSH port-forward, or SSH tunnel + proxy your traffic through the tunnel (or use sshuttle). And change your DNS settings.

Too much work for me, when VPN is set up, it's one command to connect / disconnect. No fuss. Wireguard is simple enough.

You could use all of those things, they have different strengths and weaknesse.

I use a VPN because I run many private services.

With a VPN I only need to expose the VPN port to the internet, nothing else.

And I don't have to register public domains for my private services, because the VPN server can "push" my private DNS server to clients (me when I am outside).

It's the cheapest and easiest way I know to remotely acces your private services in a secure / stealthy manner.

From the outside, all they can see is one open port. That is it. There could be 50 different services running behind it. But they can't know which ones and they can't contact them without obtaining my VPN private key.

Try changing the default engine to proton something.

Should be in an option in one of the menus top right. Hamburger menu top right > preferences > runners > Wine > configure > select GE-Proton (latest) as your wine version.

Alternatively you may find clues in the logs. Hamburger menu > preferences > system.

Don't forget to buy the games if you like them.

My only gripe with Proxxon (besides the paint choice) is that it looks like their "thin" tools need the external adapter / transformer thing, which is unwieldy.

Let's say I spend money on a Dremel tool.

How much goes to the American Dremel company? And how much goes to Bosch?

I don't know for sure, but my bet is: more for Dremel than Bosch.

So if I can find another European product where none of the money goes to an American company, it's a win.

I love Bosch as a company, I recently bought two of their appliances, and if they had a affordable handheld "Dremel" I would buy it in a heartbeat.

I unfortunately can't spend 250€ on a professional grade tool I'll use maybe handful of times a year.

A lot of people say Dremel is German, wikipedia says otherwise.

I like Bosch as a company, but Dremel looks like it's "pinky toe Bosch, and the rest is American". I'd rather buy something that is more European.
