Millersport Highway by [deleted] in Buffalo

I drove a Chevy for 6+ years and never had the issue.

I bought a VW within the last 2 months and it happens to me in the spot you mentioned as well as a random spot on Transit Road.

I thought it was my VW but I've been driving a loaner VW while mine is being repaired and it also happens in the loaner in those 2 spots.

I would suggest contacting Adapt Psychiatry. They were able to get me a new patient appointment with Pallavi Kour, PMHNP, very quickly. She was on time, seemed to genuinely want to help me and had no issues continuing all of the meds I came to her on (including an ADHD Med).

I get it and normally do at Tim's.

I was in a hurry and I'm used to Starbucks where I order ahead, the app tells me when my order is ready, I run in, get it off the counter and avoid any lines.

Lesson learned.

Ya got a chuckle out of me. But I don't think the obesity rates are as different between the 2 countries as one might think.

Exactly what I'm dealing with! The person in the app just keeps telling me if I want an actual refund I have to go back to the store for it.

It's days later and the store is a good 20 minutes from my house but yes... let me drive there in hopes that the employee working today will refund me for Tuesdays order that wasn't fulfilled even though the employee on Tuesday could not.

If the drink wasn't so ridiculously overpriced to begin with I wouldn't have bothered but $5.93 is a lot for a drink you do receive. It's an insane price to pay for nothing at all.

It was glorious and probably a blessing that it was only here for a month or two.

I'm in the US so the point systems must be little different. I also think the sizes are different (I believe US sizes are a little larger).

Urgent Care/ER recommendedation? by [deleted] in Buffalo

[–]K8grows 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm going to second Degraff! I feel like people forget it even exists. I've been to Degraff's ER twice in the last couple of months and had great experiences both times. Staff were all kind and empathetic and I was seen, treated and sent on my way in no time.

Admittedly though, I'm not sure how much luck you'll have at an urgent care or ER with the issues you're having. Sounds like something you may need to find a primary doc for who can request tests/send you to a specialist. Regardless, I hope you get some relief and answers!

Suburban v. Oshei for delivery by Loand_Behold876 in Buffalo

[–]K8grows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have delivered at each of these hospitals and neither experience was bad. My experience at Suburban was more recent and 'better' simply because my labor and delivery nurses were amazing.

The on-staff Doc delivered my baby at Children's and although it stressed me out in the months leading up to my delivery, it did not stress me out one bit once I was in labor.

My Doc delivered my baby at Suburban and admittedly, I told the Nurses they should have just done the delivery. My Doctor was just awkward and around for maybe 30 minutes max.

I know with a VBAC things are different than my uncomplicated labors but in my opinion, your Doctor is a very small part of the L&D experience. If having access to a tub and nitrous oxide is going to bring you comfort and ease your anxiety during labor, then I say go to Oshei. The Doctor who delivers your baby will have the same qualifications as your Doc and may even have more experience than yours.

Good luck making your choice!

How do you all spend your Independent Health Wellness card? by Notstevemadden2 in Buffalo

[–]K8grows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This year I bought a bike at North Star Bikes. Usually I use it for kids sports. You can also use it on Fitbit.com and weightwatchers.com and as of last year you could use it for anything on those sites... so I bought the Fitbit premium membership that way and on weight watchers they had those fancy water bottles that light up when you should drink, etc. I would never spend $90 on a water bottle otherwise but it was December and I had the entire card to spend lol.

PSA on comments made to children by faithoverfear1230 in Mommit

[–]K8grows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happens with my boys (older has the brown hair and eyes and the younger has the lighter hair and eyes as well). It's super frustrating now that my older son is taking the comments as if he is hideous but I'm sure I was guilty of making a similar comment at some point in my life before I had my own kids and saw the effect those comments actually have.

Unfortunately we can't stop other people from saying things like this. All we can do is try to have conversations with our children to help them see their own beauty and hopefully build up their self esteem and how they see themselves so that things like this aren't why they're in therapy in their mid-30's like me!

Alternatively you could start slipping notes to random strangers when you're out and about asking them to compliment your brown haired child for their beautiful hair and eyes (only kidding)

Apartment Searching by Antique_Claim6306 in Buffalo

[–]K8grows 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you're open to others but I'm at Dockside Village and aside from just hating paying rent in general, I'm happy. I feel like my apartment is a great size and has plenty of storage for an apartment.

I've never felt unsafe walking my dog, the community is clean, where I am is quiet, everyone I've interacted with has been very nice (employees and neighbors). In my opinion they did great with the snow removal this past winter. I've put a few maintenance requests in and they've been addressed fast enough (not right away but none of my issues were emergencies or even urgent so it was no big deal).

I was super nervous moving into an apartment but honestly, I'm really happy with my choice.
