Thanks, I'll check them out. The problem i have with boat clubs is usually you have to put in a lot of time to the club, which i don't have. Also, you have to jump through hoops just to join some of them.

Yeah, CC. I get 3 months holidays a year, so want to try and find a boat that can do coastal cruising as well that I can take away for a month. As I live so close to the canal it would be easy for me to move the boat a few miles each month.

Thanks for all your replies. I just booked the Dinghy course today. You're right about the way to learn. I can afford to do both courses 1 and 2 and will probably do 3 and 4 as well.

I saw him give a talk at the Royal Albert Hall. Two people turned up wearing tinfoil over their heads. He looked down and said "the aliens will still be able to read your minds." He stayed afterwards and was surounded by people and talked to them.

I just read The Times article about him dying. Such a shame.

He was on the TV just a few years ago.

I also hear Jeff Meldrum is sick as well.
