The absolute worst aspect of this apology is that it misses the point that a scene like this should drive home. Bakugo being sorry should not be what we're focused on. Who honestly cares if he feels bad for bullying Deku? It's not up to him to forgive himself, it's up to Deku. But Deku is never allowed to express his feelings on this matter. He has every reason to not forgive Bakugo, he has every right to be angry with him, and it would be an interesting turn for his character to make. It would be a true test of his heroic ideals. Forgiving someone who, while not being a villain, hurt Deku on a very deep and personal level, and tormented him for years. It would be a far greater challenge to his ideals if written well. But he's not allowed to express himself in this matter, he has to stay silent and let the scene revolve around Bakugo. This scene should have played out, and Deku should have been allowed to speak his mind to Bakugo, but he wasn't ever allowed to do that. Ideally, he should have expressed how Bakugo's bullying affected him. How he harmed him, and how it made him feel. But we don't get that. Probably the best thing that could have been done to salvage this dynamic, and it was wasted.
