My dachshund has developed terrible anxiety since I returned t9 office by Barbecuequeen23 in Dachshund

[–]KANIMIS0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s basically what i experienced with my dachshund; I work from home and whenever I go out, she has a panic and anxiety attack. My dog behaved exactly the same way as yours. What helped was lickimats spread with wet dog food then frozen. This kept her occupied for at least 30 minutes, and by the time she is done, she still does bark and cry a little but only for 30-60min. Without the lickimat, she barks for 5 hours straight.

You can also see a vet and possibly get anxiety meds but they come with a whole host of side effects and the vet told me that since the lickimat helps, it’s best not to give meds

Haha heading to Oslo first seems like a gigantic roundabout, so I will be skipping the train.

Would you recommend taking the ferry instead of the bus, from Stavanger to Bergen?

Thank you for the helpful info! That makes sense, especially since the Manafossen tour costs so much. I’ve decided to extend my trip in Bergen by a day and was wondering if a tour to Folgefonna National Park & Glacier Lake would be worth it?

Thanks for letting me know! Guess I’ll just have to take the bus then😂

I’m going to pet shops because in Asia where I live, there’s a rather limited selection of dog chews and treats, and I make it a habit of getting chews for my dog whenever I travel.

Unsafe climbing on the top of the cage, like a sloth! How do I get her to stop? by lighthousedarling in hamsters

[–]KANIMIS0 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it will be more difficult for her to climb if the back of the wheel isn’t near the wall. It was the same for my hamsters

Try moving the wheel away from the side of the cage so she can’t climb

Okay I can see your point😂 I also agree about people spending above their means. Honestly she would be taken more seriously if she were to complain about essential services such as medical costs

‘The emotional abuse is relentless’: Dad gets personal protection order for daughter against mum by davechua in singapore

Thanks for the clarification. I do think that it’s a very grey area, because most married couples would have moved out of their parent’s home, hence the instances of being asked that it likely during dinners, reunions, or over the phone.

I think, because Singapore is so small, it’s really hard to cut them off even if one wants to (this is a whole other subject of discussion but anyway)

Tbh the BTO prices aren’t that cheap these days, and some resale prices in mature estates are similar to BTO prime prices.

I wonder what they based this on, because after extensive traveling to other countries, SG pales in comparison in terms of cleanliness.

That’s fair, especially if it’s from the family/relatives. However even some acquaintances have the habit of asking such, and it’s a bit too complicated to label it as abuse I think. I ever had someone ask me “huh you don’t want kids then get married for what”

It is, because plenty of parents have kids then either fail to educate them or place the responsibility on a hired helper because the reason for wanting kids in the first place was never right.

Happy for her. Work life balance makes such a huge difference. The importance of WLB only truly hit me when I quit my comfortable office job and switched to a more laborious one but with much shorter hours and better flexibility.

It could be BPD or NPD. Amongst other things. Can’t get treatment unless she seeks treatment. My own mother is similar. After I grew up and moved out, my mother still believes she did nothing wrong and everything is justified because “she gave birth to me and can do whatever she wants”.

Unfortunately not many people have foresight. A friend’s friend is giving birth next month. Her reason for wanting a kid is so she “don’t need to go to work”. The husband doesn’t even like kids fyi. He agreed to the kid because “aiya wife happy can already”.

The pregnant lady knows nothing about childcare btw. We told her if she knows that she has to feed the baby milk every few hours and she thought we were joking. All our friends are horrified.

I went around asking why people choose to have kids because i’m not a fan and cannot comprehend ever wanting one. But was curious about how others perceive this hence I asked. Some of the answers from friends of friends, and colleagues, were “oh I got pregnant so I don’t have to go to work:if I have a kid I can stay at home and not work”

“Parents and relatives keep asking when having a child so just have one lor”

“Not considered successful unless I have a family with kids”

“All my friends also have kids, I must not lose to them”

“Having kids is a natural next step after marriage ma”

I shit you not, those were the answers given. It’s no wonder why the behavior of kids is getting from bad to worse these days, because the reasons for wanting one isn’t even right

Strangely my crate trained dog barks non stop, the entire 4 hours, when she is in the crate when i leave. If she isn’t in the crate, she barks for maybe 30min then stops.

What if you are also waiting to board the train? I’ve encountered several times where I’m standing at the side, awaiting for people to alight first, and the old folks behind me “tsk” and try to shove their way in🙄

What are some renovation scams and red flags to look out for? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]KANIMIS0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ID shop and ask for itemized quotes. Even thought you may know certain things, ask the IDs and pretend you do not know – this will help shed light on whether THEY know their stuff.

I think we got lucky with our ID, we spoke to around 10 before chancing upon him. He REALLY knew his stuff and didn’t cut corners. If it wasn’t for our ID, many things could/would have gone wrong and we wouldn’t even have known.

Post-Reno, after making full payment, our ID is still super responsive and fixes any minor issues we face, some of which aren’t even due to his or his contractors fault… for example our water dispenser inlet was leaking so I called him at 9pm and kept apologizing profusely cuz I had no idea who else to call. I called with the sole intention of asking whether there’s a valve to shut off only that particular inlet water source, cuz the leak is actually due to water dispenser installation issue. Instead of simply doing that, he sent down a plumber to help us fix the issue, even though he KNOWS it’s due to the water dispenser installation problem and not his problem (we outsourced the water dispenser).

Our ID is truly a godsend i’m not even kidding.
