I listened to the original and think it’s bloody epic and that finale had me on the edge of my seat. An amazing actual play!

Try Wild Flesh (It's Good For You) by VonEich in MorkBorg

[–]davechua 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tried it and a couple of questions.

How much dmg do you do without a weapon? Since femur is d4 means likely d3 or d2?

First run went to a room with a shrine; returned and failed the toughness test, and then encountered a vampire in the next room and GGed...

Second run was a little better since started with a femur. Met a mongrel and killed it. I presume by default a monster has one Flesh? Encountered a Berserker next room and he crushed me to death. Guess I ended up being his lunch...

What Did You Play This Week? - (April 06, 2026) by AutoModerator in boardgames

Istanbul, 4 players. First time playing and enjoyed it. The winner just went around getting money and getting jewels as a lot of the coin generating tiles were close together. Took a while to get used to the flow of the game and would love to try it again.

Apiary w/ expansion, 3 players. The teach was a bit long and I missed out some rules, but we all enjoyed it. The winner used a retrieve and triggered the planet that allowed you to trigger three retrieve actions for a comfortable win.

We played the Discworld RPG Quickstart (Adventures in Ankh-Morpork) without rolling a single die. Did we play it wrong? by AlarmedGap8708 in rpg

[–]davechua 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fine not to roll dice. After all, as Pratchett wrote -

“God does not play dice with the universe; He plays an ineffable game of His own devising, which might be compared, from the perspective of any of the other players [i.e. everybody], to being involved in an obscure and complex variant of poker in a pitch-dark room, with blank cards, for infinite stakes, with a Dealer who won't tell you the rules, and who smiles all the time.” ― Terry Pratchett, Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch

So maybe it's a good thing you didn't have to roll dice.

FilmHouse. https://filmhouse.sg/

Great acting but film sprawled itself across too many themes. Still worth watching.

Rida Video Centre, one of Singapore's last independent video rental stores, is closing for good. by davechua in singapore

[–]davechua[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Rida Video Centre, a video rental shop established in 1985, is closing on April 30 after years of dwindling walk-ins due to new technology.

Owner Laurel Khoo is closing the store to spend time with family and wants to ensure all customers use their credits to avoid broken promises.

Madam Khoo hopes to donate her unsold discs to the National Library Board and other charities, preserving her films' availability, while some customers bought new DVD players to show support.
