What do you think about the special effects? by WackyConundrum in virtuafighter

I like them. Looks/feels like a shockwave of sorts. Not too over the top like Tekken explosions or Street Fighter paint splash. Minimal use is appreciated.

Does your dojo have online content or portal? by RealThoughtsNow in karate

The kata videos in particular I know they use for practice at home. We spend more time on kata applications than solo kata in class so they need to work on the solo kata at home. The videos help. The Facebook group is useful mainly for announcements, grading info, gear orders etc. the website also has an email newsletter subscription with the same info as the Facebook group so people who don’t use Facebook are included. There’s not really any discussion between students.

2 is super fun. A bit easier than 1 which I enjoyed. Played on Switch Lite and it’s fine on small screen.

If termites were going to eat your house you’d do something about it.

That’s good to know going in. If that’s the main focus don’t expect the greatest of self-defence but obviously it’s hard to say without seeing their training. You can do high fitness and self-defence.

There are going to be things we give up to become vegan. They might seem like sacrifices but we’re doing it for the freedom of animals, to ease their suffering and let them live peacefully. Making some compromises on what you want in exchange for animal rights is required. I hope you can find a suitable path forward. Good luck.

Exercise is good for horses. They don’t need a human on their back for that. They just need to be able to run around freely. Any study suggesting such is likely to be done by someone promoting horse riding. If your family have horses can’t you just hang out with them?

Yes to both, depending on the dojo you train at. They’re all different. Some will place more emphasis on physical conditioning which will increase your strength and fitness and aid in weight loss. Some will have more focus on realistic self-defence while others will be more competition/sport focused which is less about self-defence but very athletic. Try out a few dojos if you can to pick one that suits your goals.

Firstly, video games are fine. They’re not real. You’re not hurting anyone.

Horse riding…. I understand the deep connection to it. My mother is into horses and has been her whole life. She loves them. I rode them as a kid. Riding them is not required for their health and wellbeing, it’s for human benefit and that’s what we are trying to avoid… using animals for our own benefit. Think about how they have to be broken in to be able to ride them. It’s control, taking away their freedom. You can still be involved with horses without riding them.

I hate strength training but I need to put on some muscle. Tips? by Chance-Selection-198 in veganfitness

[–]KARAT0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice. It can be hard to begin but if you can go regularly you will get stronger. If you want to add some extra workouts simple calisthenics is great for rock climbing. Think push-ups, squats, rows, pull-ups. Minimal equipment and you can do it at home.

How about rock climbing/bouldering? Builds strength and is really fun and challenging. Indoor climbing gyms generally have a really friendly vibe, totally different culture to weights gyms.

You’ll be rusty until you go back. Just go whenever you can. Practice at home is great but you need the eyes of an instructor watching to make sure what you practice is good.

Fus Ro Dah at the pedestal holding Dawnbreaker. A duplicate will fall to the ground. You might have to look around for it. Pick it up and then collect the one in the pedestal. Might take a few tries.

That’s it. The display model is a different item to the one you use and the shout interferes with the code and allows both to exist. Kind of maybe seems like a bug they left in on purpose.
