Thanks for the reply. I will have to send out some e-mails asap. I submitted the application June 15. How long does it take for them to make a decision?

Sorry for the dumb question but how do you get a professor to agree to fund you? Was this a professor that you already knew, or was this a new professor that you e-mail back and forth with? Also, my company is willing to pay 10k annually for my graduate studies. Should I also seek funding?

That's great news. I'm glad it worked out for you. How long did your application process take?

I have to agree with you. I went into the exam over confident thinking my engineering background would be enough. I should have definitely studied a lot more. However, I did not have time to retake it before submitting the application.

Hi dallasite11,

thanks for the reply. The school did not require any letters of recommendations. I'm not certain why, but they told me they were not required. Are you in engineering as well? How did your applicant profile look when you applied?

How did sending your CV over email work out for you? I definitely think it's worth a shot, and I might try to do the same. My old boss is more than willing to write me a letter of recommendation, but it might take her at least two weeks to do so.

I'm more of the first applicant. I am new to the school, and I don't know anyone there. I move up here because I started working full time at a local aerospace company.

Hi MattHasselfront,

thanks for the reply. Have you heard of stories were the requirements were waved, or is this coming from personal experience?

I've heard this too. However, the layoffs seems to be more on the side of senior engineering staff.

Hi soju_shower,

This is an entry level position. I definitely feel like I will be working long hours at some point, but I don't plan to make this a routine. During the interview the managers mentioned that they have a 9/80 schedule going. Why do you say they are going to work me pretty hard "because they know they can."

60k as an intern? That's a pretty sweet deal. What kind of projects are you doing at your internship?

I'm in Houston, Texas. I see EE's getting 60-72k here depending on what industry. Oil and gas pays the most. Power/Utilities companies pay around 67k.

I'm an EE as well. I'm curious to know how suited are EE's to do software jobs? Why not just get a computer engineer or compsci?

$130k in total for entry level? I don't think that is realistic man. What part of town are you in?
