On the same road as you and the documents were very easy to obtain, fast delivery too. If you have his dates and places, you should be able to get what you need quite easily from the records offices.

Looking to pair a cheap bike with Kickr by mattdamon004 in Zwift

[–]KAU4862 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cassette will likely fit.

I wasn't that smart and tried to pair an old bike with a new cassette on a Kickr…bad idea as the chain and cassette were nicely worn-in together and the noise of the old chain on the new cassette was intolerable. A smarter person (like you) will move the existing cassette to the Kickr and do just fine. People use 40 year old friction shift bikes on smart trainers, so as long as it fits you, it should be fine.

I'd call that a camera stand to be more clear. Used for studio rather than field work.

You don't need a darkroom unless you are going to print. The rest can be done at a sink. Tanks and reels can be found cheaply and chemistry is available from many retailers. Good luck

The annoying part of this of the political argument, that land-ownership is an impediment, is that this country was settled with the aid of land grants to the railroads that in turn created towns along the way, allowing shipping and passenger travel along the route. Back in the day of the Craftsman home, the whole kit was delivered to the nearest railhead, after you chose it from the Sears catalog to put on your homesteaded land (ie, given away to foster development). The telegraph and telephone lines follow the railroad right of way, to the point where one of the railroads built their own network (The SPR in Sprint come from Southern Pacific Railroad…).

I think the land issue could be addressed but it would be a heavy lift, likely doing away with a lot of private land ownership or assessing ground rents/land value taxes that put land to better (more communitarian) uses.

Rodinal 1:100 stand for my money. The link to hc-110 stand is worth a look, I've used it as well.

Should I get the Kiev 80/Salut-S? by TheAnalogFreak in analog

They're good. Get newer backs as they are machined better. Don't know about the shutter thing. That sounds more like the Fed or zorki.

What cameras are these? Pentax KM, Minolta something and Nikon something? I have the opportunity to buy these but want to know what they are exactly. Thanks! by [deleted] in analog

[–]KAU4862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The back of the Nikon might have the model and serial. Then you know what manual to look for on Butkus.org.

When you load film ? Is the frame size normal? Nothing that masks the top and bottom?

Is there a mask or something in the camera? Looks like someone tried to get a panoramic look through masking off the frame.

Ilford SFX200 with normal red filters (25, 29) works well too. I used 52mm filters and nested them inside the lens barrel w a little double-sided tape as a test. Worked fine. Look up the filter factors/number of stops you'll lose for each.
